I wonder what other genius ideas Comcast Scott has up his sleeve. His last two moves flopped fantastically. - Scoob

If I was Gordon I wouldn’t even have practice anymore. Show up for the game 1 hour before hand. Show up for the bus/plane other than that do whatever the eff you want because they have obviously quite on each other and the season. |

What has Scott got to do with this right now? Hextall put this roster together and the players seem to have quit.
Right now this is almost all on the players for me. |

I have to admit I laughed at this.
BUT folks need to chill. Their farm system is still killing it and it’s only going to get better after this atrocity of a season. This is a young mans game and the sun will rise again in Philly. - coffee junkie
Take your optimism and stick a fork in it. Wtf am I supposed to do in Jan and Feb when it’s cold as hell on Tuesday night etc? |

I’m watching Williams play in the slot. I’m reminded of Hartnell and Schenn. Couturier doesn’t play this style at all.
I don’t like Voracek’s point shot.
Ghost isn’t the puck handler Jake is along the wall.
Simmonds needs to keep his cool and not allow the pressure to get to him. Keep it simple and do what you do. |

I think back on all the flak I took and how I was a homer just defending Hakstol. Now many are realizing what I knew all along. This is and has been a player issue and not a coaching issue. One other thing, if anyone thinks this is the result of the team that Hextall put together, I call BS on that also. This team has just quit. No fire, no intensity, no nothing. They are in such a mental funk that it is paralyzing.

They've reached the point where throwing jerseys on the ice is acceptable imo. |

Yeah I think their in big trouble with this roster construction. The league is flying by them
No one was thinking Gordon was the answer either. Just that hak had to go. |

I thought they were in the right to move on from Hakstol when they did but yeah, there is blame to go all around and honestly I don't know how much longer they can go without making a trade. |

He jumped in to fix this mess and hired a guy who isn't doing anything to fix this mess. And that guy fired the coach who clearly wasn't to blame for what we're seeing on the ice. He should stick to ripping off cable customers and leave hockey to folks who know what they're doing. |

It was at the point where they didn't have a choice. In my opinion the season was over when they fired Hextall. It did not have a positive influence.

The trades will come soon. It takes two to make a deal. And either way I don't think Hak was the long term answer.
Not trying to defend Scott but I'd certainly have the players and Hextall ranked far above him in regards to why we're in this mess. |

Amen but here is the biggest worry. This is really, really bad. It's a pathetic brand of hockey. The offense is anemic. I'm not sure they could score on an empty net right now. Just don't panic. Don't get drastic. Make the moves you'd make even if the team was in the playoff hunt. Come back next year and re-group. Build towards the future.

Nothing wrong with disagreeing..
This is a horrible mix of players that was only hidden by multiple players having career years last season.
I dont think Coots or Jake ever get close to those numbers again.
This team isnt overly any of the following; heavy, hard, i skilled, fast, cant rely on goaltending, doesnt hit, has scored 1 goal in three games. Has three players in Simmonds, Jake and JVR that are all sort of similar.
I dont in anyway disagree that mental issues are contributing to this but if you honestly think the roster is a good setup then i got nothing. |

Everybody is to blame. There was no one person. I don't expect firing Hextall or Hakstol to magically turn this team into a contender, but it's kinda crazy that it's back to how bad it was before this all happened.
Just seems to me like the rot has been festering for too long, and won't be fixed by one thing. That is really concerning. |

Gordon heading into tonight decided to use the same lines Hakstol was using in mid November. What success are any of us expecting from a Weal, JvR, Simmonds line?
Gordon isn’t Quenneville, he’s an interm coach with minimal NHL success. I’m not jumping the gun just yet. I’ve always said I didn’t like the bottom six, which I expect huge turnover in that regard this offseason but it’s unacceptable to expect this team to be a one line team, which is what Hakstol put all his hopes in by keeping Giroux, Couturier and Konecny together for as long as he did... |

That sounds great on paper but as a paying fan we are going on year 4 right of building for the future..
When isnt fair for us to expect some consistent improvement? 5 years, 10 years, never? |

(frank)ing getting shutout 3-0 at home after losing 4-0 last game.
I got nothing.
I want the Clown to show up, I am full on Team Negative right now. - opeth_pa
Its not really team negative....there just isn’t anything to praise or get excited about. Frankly I wouldn’t mind seeing some call ups from Lehigh, just to change the look.

Why is everyone so down?
If they lose tonight they probably just have to go 30-12 the rest of the way to make it in the playoffs.
