Yeah. They're almost unwatchable right now. It's really sad that here we are in early January and it seems we're out of it.
- Hextall271

It doesn't seem like it. They are out of it. Pretty much impossible to make the playoffs at this point.

They are out of it, but Fletcher still hasn't promoted a single skater prospect from the AHL. I really don't know what he's waiting for.
- Feanor

Why would you want to promote young players into the dysfunctional mess that the team is right now?

7 of the next 10 games are at home.

If they keep playing this way, with no changes, you can be sure the locals will let them know. Either with boos or with simply not showing up.

And where are you promoting them too?

I think you might see a guy possibly if someone is moved. But really right now, where would they play? Because if you did bring up someone, I want them playing. Not sitting.

I’ll watch tonight’s game because I’m a Flyers fan, but it’s hard to work up any enthusiasm to do so.

Sad.

- BiggE

I've missed the last 2 episodes of Vikings. Much more excited to get caught up on that tonight.

Hughes is more like Johny Hockey than Clayton Keller, not saying he's as good but i see more Gaudreau.

Yup. If they lose tonight I might try to score some $7 tickets for Saturday's game lol

By that logic, they should demote Sanheim, Lindblom and Patrick to get them away from the "dysfunctional mess".

But that would be retarded, because young players can still develop by playing in the NHL, even on a bad team.

I think NAK or even Kase could come up and play a bottom-6 role. With all due respect to Jordan Weal and Dale Weise, would we really see that much of a drop-off?

Granted, a move like that is nor going to turn the Flyers into world-beaters, but...well, it answers the question at least.

I think you'll see a guy or two once some players are moved.

But I only want them up if they are playing. Like I would like Aube-Kubel up but i want him playing more a 3rd line role and getting some minutes. Not just sitting. Kind of like a Raffl role because I think I see him that way moving forward.

Are you kidding? It would be simple to bench MacDonald and Weise, and replace them with Myers and Aube-Kubel. Myers already has 95 AHL game under his belt, and NAK has 187. They are ready to take the next step.

I was thinking more just fit.

Once Patrick is healthy then Weal can go wherever. Weise has come back to earth.

I just want guys that are up playing. Not sitting.

I'm going on Saturday because my little girl wanted to go to a game so my parents got us tickets for XMas. So really, I'm more going for her.

It's sad, I've never before not wanted to go to a game. Before I had full season tix, I had an 11-game plan in 06/07, and I went to all 11 games, including the season finale. But that team was just either untalented or injured, they at least tried. This team is just flat and uninteresting.

Well that's what I mean. Either one of them could come up and play for Weal/Weise. But again, that's not likely to make a huge difference.

Not Kidding.

I want to see Aube-Kubel up but i want to see him in a Raffl type role. Not just limited 4th line minutes.

I think Myers will be up eventually. Things will play out. Some moves will be made. Just be patient.

It'll be a good daddy-daughter day. I loved those - still do, actually.

Losing is a disease.
As contagious as syphilis.
Attacking one, but infecting all.
But curable.
Now, I want you to imagine that you're on a ship at sea, on a vast ocean.
Gently rocking....
Gently rocking.....
Gently rocking.

It's not going to make a huge difference to where the team finishes this season, but it could make a huge difference in the development of prospects like Myers and NAK if they get a half season in the NHL going in to 19-20.

I think you can start with ~10 minutes a night, and go from there.

Hak only giving him 5 or 6, eventually forcing Hextall to send him back down, was a disgrace.

Funny how everyone got interested when they called up Carter Hart. It's almost like we want to see the young guys play or something.

I still watch the games. But I don't "watch" as hard. I do other things, surf the internet, play video games etc, while the game is on in the background. Ill listen for Jacksons voice to rise or for he crowd to get loud. I dislike this......

I’m blanking on the site names BSH mentioned, but 1 site said we have 9% chance for playoffs, another 10% and 1 other being more generous with 14%.
Regardless, It’s time to sell players.

Obviously it starts with Simmonds. Take whatever you can get and hopefully it becomes a bidding war by division rivals close in the standings. Trade Weal for anything. I like Raffl, but take offers on him and just because we move him this season, it doesn’t mean we can’t resign him in the offseason which I would be ok with. Maybe a team battling injuries will nite on Weise, but doubtful. Now for the defensman...

Very soon the Flyers are going to have some tough choices with our D-men. Myers has been playing very well and is knocking on the NHL door, Friedman is close too and I could see him earning a call up towards the end of the year. We also have Morin expected to come back in February and he is not waiver exempt. With that said, I think it’s time to seriously consider retaining at least 2M of Amac’s contract and trading him for whatever you can get. We can handle it with our ample cap space for next season. Take calls on Gudas as he’s having a better season; I like him but as mentioned we are going to have a log jam.

When Stoalie is back, send Hart back down so he can make a playoff run with the Phantoms.

Finish the year out, don’t trade core players, take the lottery draft pick and evaluate hard in the offseason for a guy like Voracek or even Ghost. I’d prefer to keep both but if a deal can be made at the draft that will improve our team I’m all for it.
