After taking into a count Hextall’s flaws, I still believe he should have a job but man did he do next to nothing to improve this team outside of the draft. I feel JvR was a Necessary signing. JvR isn’t a perfect player but we needed a scorer and we needed depth on LW.

JvR In my opinion was the first sign that Hextall new that free agency existed.

I think Hextall's strengths were prospect and cap management.

I think his flaws were personnel and people management.

In short, great asset management regarding the future. Bad people management in the business/present side.
