Strong argument

I expect the team to be far more than just competitive in the next 3-4 years. If you don't like the product than don't sink money into it. That's a personal choice and a different conversation. I want to see the team lift the Cup again in my lifetime. I think Hextall's plan was the best way to try and accomplish that.

So at a minimum 10 years total between playoff series wins is okay by you even though you arent guaranteed anything.

We arent just going to see eye to eye on this..I respect your general approach on things here but like most of us as a Flyers fan of more than 30 years..Im over the current product and think they just need to go all in on a tank ..have their own Process because I would much rather be a Sixers fan with the talent they have then a FLyers fan right now.

The tank is on. They are now tied for worst.

So tied for league worst?
- dragonoffrost

Yes sir. Except flyers have a game in hand in the 3 way tie. Feels pretty good!

Okay then don't. You want to keep counting past seasons before Hextall took over. We aren't going to see eye to eye on that either. You're frustrated, I get that. I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong to be frustrated. Not my place. However, despite this train wreck of a season, I still think there is a bright future for this team. Of course there are no guarantee's. We had years of the Flyers being a good team and giving us hope and excitement and fun. It wasn't sustainable anymore. They needed to change how they operated. Were you on board when Hextall got the job and laid out his plan? How long did you think it was going to take? The end result is what matters, not the bumps in the road on the journey.

Boy I sure don’t want a GM like Holmgren again!!!! Inherit a last place team and go to the Stanley cup within 5 years... (frank) that I want the 10 year rebuild...😎
- landros 2

I honestly didn't have a huge problem with Holmgren until he lost Pronger. That was a knockout punch to the team and made his job infinitely harder.

Hughes is pretty sick. As is Kaako.

They could always shop the pick as well. Whatever they get it'll be badly needed.

You know what..
I just want to be mad right now, Im just one person. The Flyers dont care if Im mad.
Comcast doesnt care if Im mad.

You go on being patient for the next 5, 10, 15 years and beating that Orange and Black flag. This season Im over the effort we as paying fans are getting. Im over the oatmeal team.

Good that you arent.

Don't have a choice. Be mad, that's your right as a fan. That's not unreasonable. More than anything, I'm bored with this team. They aren't fun to watch.

Can't believe this team wasted Giroux's prime. One of the greatest forwards in team history forced to spend his prime in Hextall's 10 year rebuild.
- PhillySportsGuy

Giroux is wasting his own prime. I dont know why people keep bring this up. He has a NMC and he has no desire to go anywhere.

I guess the best thing we can go with is an old pro wrestling concept..

As long as you , as a performer, have heat be it positive or negative then you still have possible customers. Believe me BLizzard is going through that right now.

I'll know its over for me when I stop watching but like an idiot Ill be here Sat posting during the game.

Holmgren was pretty great until the Pronger injury and then cap trouble. He quickly turned them into a contender. The problem is his method isn't really sustainable in a cap world.

Drafting a good core and supplementing where needed will lead to a longer window for winning. We won't ever know if Hextall could have gotten them there. We can only hope Fletcher sees it through.

The fire and emotion is about being a fan. I've seen plenty of playoff series wins through my childhood and adult life. I want more than that. I can barely remember them winning the Cup. So if I have to endure this season and maybe another season or two to get where they need to be, I'm okay with that.

Certainly would have made things easier getting a McDavid, Eichel, Mathews or Laine.

The team better have some personnel changes before the start of next season. Moves can start anytime now. Sell off pieces that aren’t part of the future and get what we can in trade. Make hockey trades with other struggling teams to improve fit. Please show me that it won’t be the “we like our team” yuck that they keep saying.

We have holes! We have lovely pieces that just don’t fit together. No matter the longterm goals, no matter the timetable, doing nothing is 100% the wrong move. It better happen before next season.

The we like our team is GM speak. They know there are issues but you can't say it for fear of being weak and taken advantage of.

You can only hold out so long and everyone already knows that. He has a losing team. There is no gaining strength in the trades he needs to make. Selling...yes, he might hold a little there.

They have 6 UFAs, 8 counting Elliott and Neuvirth. Add in trying to improve on Weise. They have cap space. The only UFA I would consider bringing back is Raffl. This team could look considerably different to start next year.

I'm all for trading a core piece to improve the team but that's easier said than done.
