They have 6 UFAs, 8 counting Elliott and Neuvirth. Add in trying to improve on Weise. They have cap space. The only UFA I would consider bringing back is Raffl. This team could look considerably different to start next year.
I'm all for trading a core piece to improve the team but that's easier said than done.

At the very least, we should have one new goalie, 5 new forwards (combined trades, FA and prospects) and 2 new defensemen (could be even younger).
Minus 2-3 goalies, 5-6 forwards and 2 defensemen.

I don't expect anything like that to happen (or at least I hope not and will be very disappointed if it does).
Fletcher has a lot of work in front of him. I was worried after the Holmgren/Scott presser but Fletcher doesn't seemed to be pressured into doing something stupid. |

Well to me, the right moves are about personnel fit on the team, filling roles and holes. The right moves may not get equal return or win on paper, but not making moves will certainly bring more of the same...losing.

Like you said earlier, they're going to get younger with some kids filling the open roles, filling in the remaining roles with the right personnel is critical. |
