Carolina ate Hart up last outing.
- Scoob

True, but I'm sure the kid would want another shot at them, and I'd be willing to bet he'd be pretty focused tonight and probably wouldn't give up a softy. OTOH, if the Flyers fall apart early, play like crap in front of him, and fall behind, the crowd will get ugly and in that case, better the kid is on the bench.

It's a tough call.

edit: honestly, as soon as either Stolarz or Elliott is ready to go, or they can make a deal for a goalie (even a generic backup type), Hart should go back to LHV. At age 20, I'd rather he'd be playing regularly for a good Phantoms team that he can lead into the playoffs than be playing behind the clown show up here.

He shouldn't be in the NHL right now.

Good kid. Very bright future. Should not be riding a bench though.

- BINGO!

I agree that it was too early to bring him up. Their logic was that they had seats to fill so they took a gamble. Not sure about the payoff, but it did give us a glimpse at what his potential is.

Yeah, half the time, by the start of the 2nd, I'm watching with the sound off and playing my guitar.

Every player is available to trade - just have to get the right offer.
- Scoob

I think I've shown that reasons given for being willing to trade him really are generic. I think we'd find out more by exploring why they shouldnt

It is. And we have zero idea what's actually going on behind the scenes.

Unlike the incompetent Hextall/Hakstol duo, Fletcher and Gordon got this.

He may be the softest player in the league, he makes Jordan Weal look like Rick Tocchet.
- BiggE

Thing is, we have seen him play a hard game sometimes. And when he does he can be damned near unstoppable.

Where is the pride?

Where is the drive?

Yeah, I get the reasoning for it, but it was ill advised. Even so, having watched him in person the last few years, pretty sure he'll go back to LHV and not miss a beat. Nothing rattles him.

He'll have those occasional games, but he just is what he is at this point. I was so-so on the signing last summer, and now in hindsight, I think it was just a big mistake.

He just doesn't have that inner drive that makes a player successful. He's blessed with all the tools, but will never be the player he should have been. It's sad and very frustrating.

Yeah and Nashville ate up Neuvirth last outing. I thought maybe they'll give Hart a chance at redemption.

Yeah, I'm not concerned with him being rattled or "ruined!!!!1" by this experience. I just don't think it's time.

Yes, but not playing Nashville again. Also, imho, Neuvirth didn't play poorly against Nashville but Hart looked shaky against Carolina.

My guess is that they figure a veteran gives them a better chance to win tonight.

I loathe players like that. I get that players aren't going to produce points every night but the drive should always be apparent. His isn't. He's the invisible man.

It doesn't seem like it. They are out of it. Pretty much impossible to make the playoffs at this point.
