If I am the GM there are 6 players on the roster I would not trade unless a team makes an offer that is too great to pass up offer: (like offering MacDavid, Matthews, Eichel)
1) Provorov
2) TK
3) Coots
4) Patrick
5) Hart
6) Sanheim
I know you are thinking “what about Giroux?” I would listen but the team would have to blow me away with an offer.
Of the prospects I would not trade Frost, Myers, Rubtsov, Farabee, O’Brien.
Anyone else is tradeable! Yes even Ghost! His pluses are he has a powerful shot and will shoot anytime he can. He is also very good offensively and quick skater and he works hard defensively and is a powerplay specialist. His negatives: his shot misses the net a lot, he is quick but he isn’t fast. His side to side movement is impressive but in a straight line he gets caught by a lot of guys and never catches anyone. He works hard defensively but he is completely ineffective not due to him not trying but one on one battles it is a joke he never wins. And when he is stuck out their against a first line it is basically a power play for that team—don’t believe me? How many times do you see him kill penalties? He is a defensemen that isn’t good at defense (like a pitcher who can’t throw strikes). Yes he is good on the powerplay but is he that much better than Sanheim or Provorov? There are teams that could use him (Edmonton for example) but he has his limitations and you could get a good return. (Simmonds and Ghost + conditional pick for Pulihaarvi and Nurse?)
Some guys I would trade for a bag of used practice pucks (Lehtera, Weise and Weal) others I would want something of value (Gudas for example).
What about MacDonald? He is a nice 3rd pairing defensemen with the right partner. He isn’t good enough to make up for a deficiency in his partner but he does ok with a guy like Gudas or Provorov because they play an all around game. |

I'm really blown away by the number of fans who drastically underestimate the value of Gostisbehere as a player.
The Flyers have 3, maybe 4 players who when at their best can truly elevate the team and make them better. Gostisbehere is one of those players. He showed that when he was first called up and he showed it last season. The NHL these days is about skill quickness and speed. It's also about controlling play in the neutral zone and at the bluelines. When he's playing at this best, he is elite in the NHL in those categories. It's a mistake unless completely blown away to consider trading him.
What makes it more puzzling is when at the end a trade is suggested that doesn't fit with the analysis of the player. |

You lost me when you have TK and Patrick as not tradeable but Giroux is.
If you are going to go full tank like that then Coots should be in the would move list also.

Your right.
I know Sanheim has an offensive game, as the player people think can replace Gostisbehere, but I don't think his offense is as dynamic. I think a lot of Sanheims offense is because of his skating and flow to the game. Gostisbhere has more instincts when on the PP and his shot is an absolute weapon on there. Both will always be guys that can bring offense...just think Gostisbhere will always be a more consistent threat there.
Might sound dumb when I say it but makes sense in my head and hopefully translate through.
Also Gostisbehere being on the deal he has for his game is a steal, especially when you might have to pay a higher value for Provorov. The Gostisbehere deal gives flexibility to build the roster.
I am not saying he is untouchable but I would need a major piece coming back. Tarasenko big. Top end talent.

Seriously. Did someone suggest today calling up young players from the minors, while already admitting we’re out of it and the Phantoms are still in the hunt for a playoff spot? |

To be fair to Myers, he would need to
be heavily sheltered. He's better off playing top minutes in the AHL right now. - MJL
I want Myers staying down now that terry Murray is helping behind the bench. Hopefully he can help push his defensive game and clean up his penalty issues |
