Cross-check to back of head: no penalty, because less than 2 minutes left in close game.

I franking hate the NHL.

What an awful loss this is going to be. This is why Winnipeg sucked for so long with awful goal tending

Leafs have enough talent that they shouldn't rely on their goalie to win every game for them. Hutchison wasn't great but he was good enough. Leafs created a lot of chances in the 3rd, they just didn't finish. They gave the puck away too much for the majority of the game and started playing well too late.

They played bad and Babcock got outcoached.

If I have to see Rielly over to Marner again, I'll cry.

Was just thinking the same thing.. for (frank) sakes there are other players out there. We telegraph our plays way to much and teams easily defend them. Try something different for once, it's simple.

I know Marner is awesome but do we seriously have no other option to go through on the PP?

We need to mix it up a little.

Damn Minnesota ties up a lot of sticks down low and block a ton of shots.
Also Rielly needs to shoot more from the point. Kadri is looking for the high tip but they are just playing catch (Rielly, marner)

Also wasn’t this kids day thing for marlies games? They should have kept it like that.

Wasn't Babcock's fault. This is on the kid coach who called out the starting line-up.

Been saying it for awhile but put kadri on the 2pp because he is useless on the 1st. He doesn’t get to touch the puck. Let him touch the puck more on the 2 pp and throw stone hands brown on the 1st that can dig for pucks and is ok at the high tip in case it ever goes to him.

It's pretty stupid that Nylander isn't on the 1st PP. He's obviously not playing well 5 on 5 but if they want to get his confidence going, some PP time and eventually PP points would probably help him.

Ya I don’t get it. Mix it up because the 1st pp unit hasn’t been getting it done lately.

They tried putting Matthews on the other side, which is a pretty good idea but they didn't try it for very long.

And if not Nylander, put Kapanen on the 1st PP. He's 3rd on the team in goals. Give him some (frank)ing PP time.

I love my Leafs but the way this team plays defence, they will be a long time getting past the first round. Way too soft in there own end. They're cute & pretty but like warm butter on the back end. I hope I get proven wrong sometime in the near future and they will be good enough to make it all the way but I am not sold.

You're 100% right. The Leafs defense, after Rielly, has major issues. The right side is a tire fire. The left side is offensively strong but defensively and physically weak. Boston smashed them around last year and it hasn't improved this year. If they get Boston again, they'd probably go 7 games again and the difference maker would be Tavares. But against Tampa Bay, good luck. Andersen would have to steal a bunch of games because that's basically what the defense relies on; the goalie to save their ass.

Kadri needs to be moved off the PP1 unit. I know he was a 30 goal guy last year but with Nylander back let’s make the switch, yes?
