Holy frank, can we please give this “Marner is extra-motivated because of an all-star snub?”

He franking brings it every franking night.

Asked my buddy who lives in Jersey (legal betting) to put in $100 Marner for Art Ross and he claimed he wasn't available for the prop bet, smh.
- ClaudeFather

Really? You'd think they'd have most players available to bet on. Would make them more money. People would always throw a few bucks down on their favourite players.

Because he's an all-star

And I don't get triggered any time I read his name like half the people here.

No, he has an All Star shot. But the rest of his game, not so All Star.

Fine. He's a potential 50 goal so-so player.

I like Laine as well.
He's a funny guy.
And has got an incredible shot.
He's no Nylander though..

I guess I've been watching a completely different Laine than you have.

I’m glad Mitchie isn’t going to the all-star game.

He’s waaaaaaay too small to play in the NHL.

Just imagine him playing against the elite hitters at the ASG - the little pixie would get killed!

I have. But at the end of the day, goals are goals.

There won't be an asterisk on his 2018-2019 stat sheet after this year.

He has a good shot, he can score, I voted for him.

He’s scored 5 goals since he scored 5 goals.

Not saying he’s not great... he’s sorta kinda pretty great(ish).

I realized during the Wild's power play that I wasn't concerned that every point shot was going to go in or result in a goal. This is from a goalie I have never really seen before (or least don't really remember seeing him).

So for guy who has the worst save percentage of anyone who's started at least 3 games, there's more confidence. I'm sure it'll change, but my first impression was, "Oh. He looks like he plays goalie."

hardest part about being a goaltender is consistency ....

or stopping shots at practice with your face

but mostly consistency

He will be very good when / if he learns to play D.

How he can be -9 playing with those guys shows how poor his D is.

I see. So. Consistently stopping shots with your face is the key?

True.

But also, let's not sit around and pretend that the all-star game is a halfway selke trophy to reward the hard working players of the league.

Hey. Did anyone else listen to that Hainsey interview between periods and think, "Holy poop! He sounds just like Babcock. No wonder he keeps playing him!" ?

I would prefer no Leafs make it, and relax for 5 days
