Sign Skinner yesterday. - mhp
Guy is playing well no doubt.
According to the Buzz insidets hete and national media, we need to wait another month to see what progress is being made in that regard.
6x$8.25 is my hopeful guess.

Nah. Skinner is much better. Kane is a good player. Skinner is a top 5 LW.
Hot take- I'd take Skinner over Laine - sbroads24

William Nylander - 7M cap hit (next year) 0.25 ppg, 12 games - Amazing
Sam Reinhart - 3.7 cap hit, 0.98 ppg, 41 games - Disappointing for a 2nd overall

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see this go nowhere until after the TDL to be honest. At that point, he can get the full 8 year contract. |

I like what Sam has been able to do this year to be honest. I think part of the reason why it doesn't seem like he's producing is because he's not even remotely flashy. At all. Not 1 area of his game stands out and "wows" you. Doesn't mean he's not effective though. |

That's his biggest "problem". There are fans that literally think he's useless because he doesn't score goals. These people are not here, but they arise on Sabres facebook, which is an event all in of itself.
He has the ability to score, and typically does when playing with players less apt to shoot, like OReilly. But with Skinner here, he's just concerned about getting Jack and Jeff the puck. Which he can do extremely well. |

He was never touted as a "scorer" though. He was supposed to be a playmaker. And he does that. Albeit in a very ho hum way that is unimpressive. Doesn't mean he's not effective though. |

It's never safe to give out full length contracts to guys that aren't your franchise players, especially ones hitting their UFA years. But Skinner not only plays a self preserving game, he also has speed to burn. You give lugs like Okposo and Lucic giant deals, their average speed in today's NHL is going to make them look like sloths a couple years into the contract.
Ryan Stimson wrote a nice little piece about why and how Skinner should be paid, and how "safe" it would be to extend him long term.
https://theathletic.com/6...r-jeff-skinner-look-like/
He also wrote a follow up piece exploring trade options for Skinner if a contract can't be agreed upon. However, methinks, based on actual performance and several Botterill interviews, they're not going to let him go easily. |

There's too many fans that don't see the big or even smaller framed picture. There's a guy, who exists, that demanded we don't draft Dahlin because he doesn't have as many points as "Philep Zadana" |

That's my friend, Jared, training him. I know many on here don't care for Paul, but after his wife passed away, he really went downhill. He's made huge strides. |

Taking control of your life and health is not an easy task. Especially the older you get. I applaud anyone who manages to make progress. And honestly, the slower the process, the more likely that it's a more permanent change. Took me a long time to realize that. |

Id like to see this. More balance and who knows, it might work. Speed on all 3 lines and Pommer out of the top 9 makes my day.
Of course it is more likely that Amber Heard shows up at my house looking to do some nude housekeeping. |
