Considering UPL plays in the OHL I definitely though Frost or Tippet would get that shot. I didn’t expect this team to win gold. Not enough high end talent. To lose in the quarters to a team they were projected to meet in the finals is crappy luck.

Yea that’s completely uncalled for and bizarre. It’s tough enough as it is to have a dream crushed never mind have people threatening you over it. Dipietro was stellar last night, as was UPL. Nice to see the respect factor from Lukkonen as I’m sure he knew neither goalie deserved to lose that game. Big fan of Laaksonen’s game as well. Seems like we are having good luck with Swedes and Fins lately.

People have been writing Maxime now telling him to avoid the trolls and not listen, nothing to hang the head about. It just reminds me of stories coming about about soccer refs being threatened over missed calls. What are we coming to? Seriously, you're threatening to kill a teenager over a shoot out miss? GTFOH

We have a 1C and future 1D. We have some supporting players. If we have an elite goalie on the way...things could get interesting fast.

I stopped getting overly excited about prospects. Been let down too many times. Still, UPL does seem to be progressing perfectly.

That's been depressing. I understand Botts' idea that you have to earn a call up. However, if you earn that call up, simply put, it would be nice to see what that player can actually do. I don't think anyone wants to see him on the top line, but is there any reason Elie is over him? I mean any at all?

I didn't use the term 4th line anywhere in that post. I'm not gonna get into it with you on Larsson, Boss. You have your opinion, I have mine. Look at the stats and advanced stats that compare the players, or don't

We have our Stammer and Hedman. The hope was that Mittelstadt could blossom into the Point. If UPL/Ullmark can give us top 10 goaltending that’s good enough. We have a ton of picks and soon we’ll have cap space to surround Eichel and Dahlin like the lightning did with Stammer and Hedman. Nobody drafts and develops better then the Lightning though, hopefully Botts can hit on half as many picks as they have. I like what I see from Pekar, Laaksonen, UPL, Samuelsson in terms of being NHL players and that’s tough to find past the first round of the draft.

Other than that, I like or agree with all of this. Good take. Would love to model after Tampa. They have built a team that is sustainably good.

Guys like 6K, Samuelsson and Lakksonen are 2, maybe 3 years away but they will all be future Sabres. In Samuelsson's case, he's a future top 4 dman imo. 6K could be a future #1.
