I’m afraid of reading the comments. The post game radio broadcast was full of “I can’t believe no one did anything” texts and phone calls, so I know something really bad must have happened. - 1970vintage
If you want a realistic assessment and not a fan boy reactionary assessment, go listen to Green’s comments on the situation.
But then again there will be those that just need to complain and will discount anything other than their own narrative, that justice wasn’t served or delivered. |

Yeah, watched the TSN highlight of the incident. Seemed like a weird, unfortunate collision. Still, some “pushback” must be warranted or else the Canucks will forever be a team of pussies... |

We just need six more gritty guys in the forward ranks and we’re good.

Well, EP needs to be protected, aside from players on the bench watching an IPad to see if push back is warranted. Hilarious. |

Im shocked people think it was dirty/intentional/malicious. Could it perhaps have been a hook/interference call, maybe, but im not at all shocked nothing was called, cause it was a near nothing play with an unfortunate injury. Having said that, hutton had a birds eye view and not just dirty plays/penalties warrant reaction/push back. Stars generally get protected from hits/fights/harassment much like goalies do. Would have been nice to see hutton go at him a bit, or some more fight in the canucks after petey went down, that was my dissapointment. The play itself to me, was nothing more than two rookies going at it, with a really unfortunate fall. |

Just got in from Hockey just saw the highlites. Haven't heard Greens comments yet but I'm assuming it's the same standard crap he said after the Matheson takedown of Pettersson.
Regardless of complaints or the 'lack of maliciousness' on the play there was intent for a takedown which resulted in a injury.
This is the second time this year liberties have been taken with Petey and no pushback. Get ready for a long career of injuries if that is the case.
The fact that he went back and apologized means jack at that point. He had every intent to take Petersson out.
And of course the Refs stand there and watch. God I wish we had Torres back here when he was mean he could handle some of this sh!t lol

So you are advocating that something that Pettersson himself tried to initiate in a push and shove between another player should be championed by goonery.
I’m sorry but I agree with Green and can’t believe the mentality that someone needed to goon it up because Pettersson is a buck 50 and a stick boy that can put up points. |

I’m the least vengeful guy on here. I think that most of the fighting in the NHL is retarded. But I will say, if guys don’t stick up for each other, team morale takes a beating. If anyone on the team, the smallest guy, rushes over and starts throwing hay makers at Koktwhateverhisnameis he probably thinks twice about engaging physically with anyone again. |

Well to each their own, and I completely disagree, Pettersson was pushing back against the check. He is a slight frail man boy, maybe he would be better suited for figure skating if he can’t take the physical contact of hockey without needing a protective goon squad.

I watched him get leveled in the tournament while skating circles around the ice, not one teammate came to pushback for Quinnie |

Yeah, Green can’t tell guys to get “retribution“, that has to be player driven. Guys have to want to stick up for each other. When one guy goes down the other guys on the ice should react in some way. |

How much push back do you expect from 150 lb kids? |

Only the Canuck draft picks are 150lbs, a large number of those kids were 6’2”, 220lbs.
