For 2 years they're fine. They're feasibly another Eriksson contract away from a crunch in year 1 of EP's new deal, assuming some pretty linear progression/contracts for guys like Virtanen/Stecher/etc.

MDZ had the same games iced in Philadelphia. Last season was the first full season opportunity he had. We Know how that went.

Yes there's lots of room but it gets eaten up quickly, Edler and Boeser will both make over six million next year, assuming Benning re-signs Eddie, and then you hope they can take on a significant UFA to help the defence and or the top six. Demko, Motte and Leivo need contracts as well.

I think most GM's know what they are getting with MDZ one way or the other. Trying to sell untapped potential from the press box is difficult.

not a fan of 2 checking lines in the bottom 6, but Sutter is a massive upgrade on Granlund at C. Hopefully Gaudette is the long-term answer as 3LC.

I like how they dedicated a practice with the staff for Goldy. It is a good sign that they are being patient with young players rather than just stuffing him on the shelf and treating it like "we don't have time for this". He's getting time... special time centered around his deficiencies. I'm liking this group of coaches right now. Doing a lot of things right and they are even getting endorsement from Dragon.
