You know the wings tried drafting him the round prior, the league refused. Somehow the Canucks proved his eligibility the round after and the league allowed them to draft him. - mr.peanut
That sound made up !
How did the Wing's DG not throw his table to the NHL official that said no in the first place and then conveniently change his mind ?

Probably because it was the 6th round and no one expected Bure to become what he did, so they didn't make a big deal about it... besides, everyone knows Valeri was the better Bure! |

This was a league where a player who didn't exist was drafted.
Also, in 88. There were 2 players available with the same name. The Flames drafted the wrong one and only found out after the Canucks later drafted the one they actually wanted |

Weber is out there 25 minutes a night to play policeman. When you're that intimidating you don't need to often fight...just be there and watch the other team skate away - Takemedrunkimhome
Weber keeps guys from running around too much. he would not have prevented something like what happened last night. Pettersson wasn't Matt Cooked. he was hurt on a very non-violent play by an 18-year-old beanpole. |

surprising yes. but i see Buffalo drifting back over the second half. they caught a tailwind there for 2-3 weeks there in November but i don't think they can sustain a playoff pace over the second half.
of course i really know very little about hockey. |

Good job. I love how the first commenter says we should send Benn + Schlemko + Alzner to the leafs...

A CFL team drafted a player who had died a few months earlier, I think it was the Lions |

Once again well written. Good on you. I hate that I'm already resigned to MB overpaying Gardiner with max term because I'm a pure pessimist |

He had Drouin in the deal too and claimed it was to help out the Leafs with their cap issues... Drouin, Alzner and Schlemko combined are over 11 million... and all he was asking for in return was Marner! |
