I liked Selling the Drama and All Over You, but didn't dig their slower stuff. I know I'm gonna spell this wrong, but Lukini's Juice actually blew me away when I first heard it. I was all, "THIS is the band that cried through Lightning Crashes!?!?"

Chad Taylor had some nice guitar work on all of their albums. They always get lumped into that "garbage mid-90's alt rock bullsh1t" but I thought they were underrated and shouldn't have been lumped in with those bands of the time.

The great thing about this is I see other lists and think, "oh poop, I forgot that..."

Yup - good ideas for listening this weekend

The goalie situation has to be close to being historic.

Nuevy, that is it, that should be his career, I feel bad for the guy but hate it has to be the Flyers.

Elliot, he will most likely be in the same situation as Nuevy was coming into this season. Last year will be his last chance due to his age.

The goalie position alone would have most likely cost them the playoffs, even if the team play close to what they played last year

I think it's only a matter of time before Leighton comes back for his 32nd stint with the team or Boucher comes out of retirement.

I'm late to the party but I want to play in your reindeer games. Don't judge. These are the albums I can listen to any time. In no particular order and this doesn't mean they are the best album from that group;

Fleetwood Mac - Rumors
REM- Life's Rich Pagent
Foo Fighters- Colour and the Shape
Live- Throwing Copper
Nirvana- Nevermind
AC DC- Back in Black
Guns-n-F'n-Roses- Appetite
Foo Fighters- Sonic Highways
Warren Zevon- Excitable Boy
Pearl Jam - 10

Numerous Greatest Hits albums don't count on the list...

Admit it, it's the Janet Jackson album, isn't it?

I'm actually a closet Michelle Branch fan. My wife gave me grief a few years ago because I "FaceBook liked" (her words) Michelle Branch... She thought it was embarrassing:-) I don;t blame her.

The way this team is going, Bernie may be suiting up by March.

I know this is gonna just get ignored again but Fletcher was brought in to do what Hextall wasn’t. So let’s say Fletcher trades Simmonds and JvR. What the hell do you guys think the Flyers will get in return that will make our team better, not five years from now, but next season?

I’m just blown away by a collective group of people who pride themselves on telling each other how smart they are and bullying each other, have no idea how to make this team better. They just know who they wanna get rid of so the team will be worse.

You know what? Weise will look great in Simmonds’ spot and Raffl in JvR’s spot.

One of the few albums that played in it's entirety before football games on Saturday mornings in the locker room.

See, I lump them in there because nothing about them ever stood out to me. Not saying they're a bad band, but I just don't dig their style. Also seemed a little too avant garde/religious in tone for me.

I never got into them. Few decent songs, but I Alone and Lightning Crashes really turned me off to them for some reason.

We're talking about Live, right?

- jmatchett383

I liked that song until they started making mashups with it and news clips of tragedies. yuck

The good thing is that the fans don't have a say. The Flyers aren't taking a poll to see who they should trade. I seriously doubt that JvR is getting traded.

I had a long standing desire to re sign simmer. But now everything is pointing to the team either doesnt want him or doesnt want to pay him like he wants to be paid. I wasn't going 7x7 for 49 total for him. So yes I would encourage a trade instead of losing him for nothing in a lost season anyway.

As far as jvr goes I think trading him is premature though I think hes been pretty bad this season. But that could be a combination of things including how bad our team is playing. I dont see his value being enough to be worth trading and I think giving him the opportunity to get better is the better route.

I actually would trade Jake if I was to chose one high end piece to move. I think we could either pair with Jake to get a really good upgrade or we could get a quality young piece.

This team as constructed isnt performing. Something has to be done. I dont agree with trading everyone but we do need something to happen here. 4 coaches have shown a coach isnt going to do it all for them although a coach like Quenneville who demands that immediate respect might get something more out of them. Players need to get their collective heads out their arses.

Ed's lyrics definitely had a spiritual tone to them and I think it got worse as they put out their later albums. Turned me off eventually.

But, if you can get past the lyrics and listen to some of the stuff from Mental Jewelry, Throwing Copper, Lakini's Juice, Distance to Here, even Birds of Prey, there some good songs in there.

It was a little more "grunge" and less "poppy" like some of the stuff at the time.

Great article about the "worst two weeks in music history."

With respect to JvR, I'll say that Scott Hartnell was pretty unimpressive for the first 40 or so games of his first season here. Different player/personality, but fans were calling him the next Chris Gratton during his early time here.

Yup. We know jvr can be a good player. He was the number 2 free agent this past off season. He can score. He has had 2 coaches, a significant injury, no consistent line mates including excessive time in the bottom 6 and a horrible team. I'm going to see how it goes over the next 42 games and next season at least. If hes still not working try and sell him to Seattle.

JVR should throw a glove. At least he'd be noticeable for a second.
