Anyone listen to anything from this century or does everyone pop in the same Pearl Jam cd every time they get in the car?
- StepfordSam

I find 0 appealing about Pearl Jam but a lot of what I listen to is weird Scandinavian depressive black or funeral doom metal so I dont want to creep people out.. lol

Became a fan of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson due to the Opeth tie in.
Specifically his production on Blackwater Park by Opeth.
Anyway, Last CHance to Evacuate Planet Earth Before Its Recycled is good stuff.

Nice to see the U.S. playing for gold in the WJC. Whether vs Finland or the Swiss, they have to be the favorite.

Incredible song.......Often wondered how Wilson ever conceived a song out of that farewell recording

I’m older than that but my playlists now are mostly classical, the older the better.

My playlists are all over the place from 60s classic rock to songs released by some local bands in the last couple of months.

I think this is the key difference. GMs might take a risk on Kane in their locker room for the playoffs but they will fight each other to have Simmonds leadership.

I expect to get an unconditional 1st regardless if he resigns, plus 2 conditional 2nds... 1 if he resigns and 1 if they make the finals or something like that. I would be happy with that. Get the job done to Edmonton, and tell Manning to take McDavid out in practice alla gudas and we will resign him in the offseason for an extra mil...lols

- youarewrong

A first and two seconds for Simmonds? Seriously? Guy deserves a ton of respect for his workhorse seasons but c’mon

Give me your list. I like hearing new things. All my music now is from the arena, and even that is stale.

Although whatever they were playing during warmups last night was just brutally depressing and why they'd play that to hype anyone up shoes the game experience people are whacked too.

I listen to the same older stuff but not many people listen to Ritchie Kotzen, kings X
Dream Theater, Opeth, sevendust.
Kings x and Ritchie very bluesy.

Enjoy

It felt exhausting being in my early 20s and trying to find new music all the time. Lots of live shows and concerts looking for a hip new band no one else heard of. Digging through cd racks. Much easier to stay with my comfortable stuff.

Here is one of the issues with the Flyers. There are many more. When they come out ready to play, which is maybe half of the games, they play with a decent team structure. Then they get a goal scored against them. They then abandon the team structure and try to do too much with individual plays. They try to stick handle past two defenders and turn the puck over. They circle around the offensive perimeter like a merry go round looking to make a play. It's not there. Make ill advised passes that lead to turnovers. Forwards cheat out of the offensive zone and defenseman don't have outlets. That leads to turnovers and icings. Watch the neutral zone and the bluelines. The team controlling that wins. You don't score a lot of goals in the NHL by trying to create offense against a 5 man defensive unit. You score by creating opportunities and rushes by defending in the neutral zone and at the bluelines. The are large expanses of white ice absent of the Flyers. In the middle of the ice in the neutral zone and the offensive zone. Can't win like that.
If someone didn't watch the game and look at the shot metrics, they'd think the Flyers controlled the game. They didn't.

Not one to normally quote my own post but I ran across this quote from Gordon and it echoes some of the same thought I have.

"When you do the right things, you work hard, you compete and you battle, you get a lot of confidence because you know you put in the time, the work, the effort, to be successful.

When a player is not playing well, he tries to play a little more on the perimeter, tries to be open where nobody sees him laying in the weeds, standing behind the net when he needs to get above the puck. There's so much value in being able to have a presence through the middle of the ice and the effort that is exerted to get there. Sometimes it doesn't show you the necessary offensive results, but it puts you in good position to be able to stop the opposition from going on the attack.

So instead of … maybe it's a chip out, maybe it's a turnover that you create by working to get to the middle of the ice as oppose to standing behind the net or standing in the weak-side corner and then all of a sudden you're on a 200-foot backcheck and you're getting scored against and you're losing confidence. 'Why am I getting scored against?'

I used to be heavy into music when I was younger but I don't spend nearly as much time listening now. I've not made any effort at all with new music in this century. I'm sure there is some good stuff I'm not aware of but I've always been a classic rock kind of guy. That and solo songwriters such as Jackson Browne.

Placing Neuvirth or any other player on roster on IR does not gain the Flyers any cap space.
- MJL

I should have stated Long Term IR.. that game with getting space still goes on correct-not that Fletcher seems inclined or able to use it as of now?

He should stay home and make more babies and get out of our misery....and let his wife be the only way he gets groin injuries

I'll probably get killed for this but newer music I tend to put on Shinedown, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and the like. Or country...

We have way too much space to need to use LTIR. If ass Fletch is needing that he's went full Homer. And we all know you never go full Homer in a cap league.
