Perfect. Put them both together on the fourth line where they currently deserve to be based on their play, and move Roslovic up to second with Little.
- jetsnation

Really? No comment on Connor playing entirely on the perimeter lately? Nothing about the entire 3rd line being dead in the water? Your solution is to put your biggest weapon, and your biggest line-reviver below Brendan Lemieux and Brandon Tanev in the lineup? If Maurice sees it like that, we will miss the playoffs

Yep, both off to the 4th line. Laine should have been there weeks ago. I hope Ehlers isn't out too long because we sure miss him driving the opposition back. His speed is missed bigtime.

The second line centre is a big hole. We need an upgrade there.

Laine isn’t the problem. Little isn’t the problem. Perreault isn’t the problem.
Connor is drowning. Perreault isn’t playing enough. Laine and Little do not work together. This is a coaching problem, through and through.

He definitely is in a scoring funk, how about a harder working right winger and a centre that can play at today's game speed, that might help. Connor was one of the bright spots last night, what, 6 shots?

Name me one winger that has gotten better as a result of playing with Bryan Little.

Ever? Or current year?
Historically, almost everyone.
Now? It’s all circumstance and player matching. The same can be said for Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic though.

I'll keep posting the time and date of the free beer and wings and comraderie at The Pint.
3:00-5:30 Saturday Jan.12.
I've narrowed the time in order to maximize the chance that everyone will get to meet face to face, but I will have the space from 2:30-6:00

So far:

No - 2.0
Yes - Ross/Rexy
Maybe - Jets Nation/Ultimate

Anybody else? Charlie Dog, Keith, Byfuglein, Pete?.....

Pete, when I originally floated the idea you said "let's make this happen", but I haven't heard from you once I set the specific date.

I could also try to move it to Sunday, say 1:00-4:00, before the Jets game if that is better for more folks, but it may be too late and crowded to make that change now..

Maurice is still 1000% to blame for our forward f*ckery

So you think the winningest coach in the league over the past two seasons and top three in the past four seasons and now coach of the All-Star team is our problem. Your completely demented.

Put me down as yes, but now with a “grandma taking the siblings and I out for dinner at the same time” out-clause.

Not a cop out. You still haven’t answered the one thing I asked, which I laid out in a manner that makes it obvious I’m waiting on your answer before providing my own

I was very frustrated with Laine's play vs Penguins - I don't want to give Scheif and Wheeler a pass either - the best players need to be the best in big games and they were not. Laine slump through December and still going is problematic - obviously not scoring but also not skating, hitting (his second best attribute), winning puck battles but most important he looked lost/confused. I don't think its about desire or lack of competitiveness as he is likely more frustrated than anyone.

On Friday night I was ready to pencil him in on the 4th line with PP duty, today, with some sober thought I would like to see him with Scheif and Wheeler. It really won't be taking anything away from other lines as they are not working anyway. Perreault or Rosy can play up with Little and Connor, Lowry line stays, battle continues for 4th line roster spot and ice time.

Overall the d on Friday was B+ good, the missed check by Kulikov on the first goal was ugly. Connor was the Jets best skater, was involved with the play and possibly the only forward matching speed with Pens. As a whole the forwards looked defeated after the 1st period. Good on Maurice for pulling Helly with 5+ remaining, the team needed a reminder to compete to the end like it matters. Disappointing leadership from Wheeler/Scheif, and not a strong grind night from the Lowry line either.

Little is versatile, responsible talent but not the guy to carry Laine's play, an upgrade is needed at 2C. We know it is needed, lets complete the deadline deal early and get back to playing like contenders.

in a heartbeat! If we win the cup, that pick will end up being the 31st pick overall. This team has enough prospects.
- TheUltimateJet

Agreed! Douchene for a late 1st would be fantastic. The kid can play, and send Little down a line where he belongs. Whats up with Niku? I had high hopes he could be a top 4 D this season and that clearly has not been the case.

Little is a decent two-way Center. He is far from a top 6, and is lucky to have the supporting cast he does. He does not generate much in terms of offensive oppurtunities, and this would be a great contract to get out of if there were any takers. Kuli too. Really want this Connor extension done ASAP. What are you thinking? something like 6 years at 7M AAV?

Niku will be top 4. He’s just not being allowed to play. He looked great with Trouba, but has otherwise been held down by Chiarot and Morrow

Connor should be offered Ehlers’ exact contract, and nothing more. He’s struggling a lot right now.

Little will be the first Seattle captain, or a compliance buyout. By the time Chevy realizes he needs to go, Little will no longer a traceable asset.

Well if Evander Kane is worth 7 million/year, than theoretically Connor should be worth 10. I think we will be very lucky if both Connor and Laine sign for 7. That's what i think both are worth.

This talk about Laine getting 10 are absolutely ridiculous.

Also, it was nice to see Bryan Little get some points yesterday. He's a solid 3/4 line player that shows up every once in a while. Interestingly Perreault, Tanev and Lowry all have either the same amount or more goals than Little.

Laine might only be worth $7 mm per but will get at least $9MM on a long termer. I'd be more inclined if I were Chevy to bridge him at a lot less. Connor $7 MM max. I'm sure Chevy's thinking $6 MM. Myers should also be re-signed at a similar dollar figure but its going to be tough because Myers will want term and with Poolman and Niku slowly coming along a 3 year term is all we should do.

Great game by Lowry yesterday. Perreault also looked very good for about 35 minutes and then disappeared the rest of the game. I'll give hime and Lowry an " A" though. Like I said earlier, Perreault's game is a lot better suited for 3rd and 4th line play. Connor , who has been one of the more solid Jets the past few weeks had his A-game going as well. Myers continues to shine.Roslovic looked good on the second line....another good call by JetsNation
