9.5 seems a bit much, but if you have the Cap Space, I would imagine there are worse people to overspend on.

Jeff Skinner's goal totals per year:

18
28
37
24
And currently on pace for 56...

Call me crazy, but I don't think signing a 27 year old with such wildly inconsistent numbers to a long term deal is a good idea. He's a very good player, but he's never had more than 63 points in a season.

- BINGO!

agree

Melynk can write a blank cheque for Skinner...

Why offer any pending ufa's extensions during the season/playoffs? Keep these slackers hungry and rent again next year. Remember Drury, Gomez, Gaborik, Semin, Eric Staal, Lecavalier, Bobby Ryan, Loui Ericksson before and after they got extensions.

What?

Eric 3 years before his big extension: 227 points in 246 Games. That's .923 points per game.

First 5 years after the extension: 330 points in 360 games. That's .917 points per game.

Since his rookie season the dude has had one actually bad year. One.

9.5 for Skinner is insane.

If that is what he is really going for he needs to be drug tested.

Breaking News?

Flyers pick up MCKenna off waivers?

For the Flyers sake, I hope they are not fixing the goalie situation with McKenna.

I know the Devils goaltending sucks but at least we are pinning our hopes on a prospect.

No one, not even the dummies in Flyer management right now,are saying that they fixed the goalie situation with McKenna. It will be a miracle if they don't waive him by February 1st.

They don't wanna run Hart into the ground, and everyone else (literally, all other 4 goalies) are hurt. They had actually been doing well with Stolarz until he got hurt. So yeah, this is a stop-gap.

No its another bandaid because Neuvirth is hurt again. Someone passed gas in front of him last night after the game and it strained his lower body.

Goaltending this year has just been ridiculous with injuries. Elliot gets hurt twice, Neuvirth 3 or 4 times now, Stolarz twice, Lyons twice. Pickard was the healthiest goalie we had and the worst goalie.

We'd probably be better off with Dipietro at this point.

I dont expect him to see any ice time. He will back up Hart. Given how the seasons gone, he probably gets hurt too

2014-2015 - Second in goals, 5th in points on the team
2015-2016 - 1st in goals, 1st in points
2016-2017 - 1st in goals, 1st in points
2017-2018 - 2nd in goals, 4th in points

Again, not saying he's bad, just that he's not consistent and he's definitely not a 50 goal scorer.

- BINGO!

he is no cliff pu
