This is where I think Kreider could become expandable ( maybe not now ). You can start to dabble into experimentation by stacking up Hayes with Zib and someone like Buch or Chytil as the other wing. This is where I would like to see Kreider go to Toronto for Kapanen and 2 picks. Take on the Horton contract for more assets in return. Maybe Kravstov could center two established NHL'ers like Kapanen and Panarin?

I think either way that Panarin is someone who you would want to put on Hayes flank. His advanced stats scream to have a elite talent with him during the 5 on 5.

Toronto can keep Horton without much issue, unless there is a buyout coming. It's LTIR and just cash, which isn't an issue for that team.

I really just wanted to find a way to work "no turn un-stoned" into a post about Hayes

He's definitely not worth $8M+, but he's a damn fine player and he'll get paid. My guess is ~$6.5M

On the open market? Most likely in the 6.8-7 range. Rangers should be cool with giving him a 6.6×6 and his clause attach to it.

yeah, there's no need for Toronto to trade Horton, they can go over the cap by 10% in the summer, the summer cap will be like 89 million

Would be shocked if he doesn't re-sign in San Jose.

There's drug dealers that would kill over 400 dollars. It's NYC cost of living so every penny counts and I could see that range oppose to the 6.5 million.

Kravstov will be a winger for his foreseeable nhl career, & a damn well good one. He’s only playing center because of injuries in WJC, & let’s get one thing straight.. he’ll never be a defensive stalwart, his assignments will be offensive zone starts & for sure a lot of fun to watch!

Also, Happy New Year Jan & everyone!

no I think there is a really good chance they'll still sign him to an extension
- jimbro83

Rangers can't re-sign Hayes and then sign two of the guys you listed without making a number of trades. Just not enough money go around.

He'll alos be 35. Hard pass on that. Joe Pavelksi is a great player but no way on earth should they sign him.

Look for the depressed Rangers fan in the right corner of the ice that the rangers defend for 2 periods tonight. That will be me.

If they re-sign Hayes and get Panarin, that is pretty much all they can do UFA wise.
