It will change when the IIHF and/or the IOC pay the insurance costs like they did in Nagano, Salt Lake, Torino, Vancouver and Moscow. This was always about money. The IIHF came in and offered to pay them too late last year, after they realized the NHL wasn't bluffing. - buffalofan19
There's no way in hell Bettman is missing Beijing. He's been pushing China as a market for a long time, they had that regular season game there this year. The NHL is going to the Olympics in 2022, of that I have no doubt.

My memory sucks at times, lol...I don't hate on ERod, and his role is certainly that of a 4th liner.
In that role he brings good value, especially at his pay, but also with his speed. I like him and want him to succeed, and he isn't their biggest problem at all.
This year he has played a majority of his ice time split almost evenly on L4 and L3
His play with Larsson and Girgs is good, flipping the ice with very high D-zone starts.
I get ALL of that.
That said, with 40-50% ice time on L3 so far this year, he is part of the middle-six scoring woes.
And on a contending team, I'd like for 4th line players to produce something like 10-12-22.
At 2-9-11 his A's are there, but would like to see more G's produced.
Do I have a major problem, no. When this team improves overall should we expect better production, absolutely. - IonSabres
How much do you want from a guy making the league minimum? Wilson makes 40% more than Rodrigues and is nowhere near 40% better. ERod had 11 more points in 1 less game last year. 11 points is 35 games for a guy making $650K is more than fine. It's all gravy with him.

IMO the difference is negligible.
Erod is ok, Wilson is ok. I expect neither here next year when they bolster the middle six - sbroads24
The difference in pay isn't though. That's why I'm taking ERod every day of the week. Also, ERod can skate, Wilson is ok, but ERod wins easily.
As long as he doesn't get a big raise(more than $1M celery, I don't know he'd get more than $800K to be honest) I would expect him as the 13th forward. That's ideal to have a guy dirt cheap as your spare guy that can come in and play on any line for a couple games. The utility is his strength, that and the fact he's incredibly cheap.
