"Boston has bragging rights now with a 2-1-0 record but Buffalo did get a loser point in one of their losses. "

Buff in the shootout

Both teams finish with a 2-1-1 season series record

Schedule makers in the NHL are horrendous. Boston season series over at the halfway point. Last year the Sabres and Leafs didn't play until March.

The difference in pay isn't though. That's why I'm taking ERod every day of the week. Also, ERod can skate, Wilson is ok, but ERod wins easily.

As long as he doesn't get a big raise(more than $1M celery, I don't know he'd get more than $800K to be honest) I would expect him as the 13th forward. That's ideal to have a guy dirt cheap as your spare guy that can come in and play on any line for a couple games. The utility is his strength, that and the fact he's incredibly cheap.

There is no other player on the team that plays LW/RW/C/EV/PK/PP

Hell there aren't that many players in the league. Erod is a bargain. He will be with the sabres next year, whether that's in a 4th line role or an extra forward

How about the year after the tank when we finished the season series with Tampa in November

My poorly thought out theory is that the lack of actual TV money relative to other leagues makes schedule making kind of a "whatever" thing for the league.

Basically, as long as NBC gets fed, they don't really care how the rest shapes up. It's rationalization on my part because I don't want to believe they are as dumb as they seem.

erod line is gonna have their hands full, as will the Sobotka line...

hope the defense and bottom-six, as well as Ullmark, can make this a good one

don' t know how the nhl does their scheduling, but am of the opinion that buffalo has been the last team (at least over the last five years or so) to be considered when doing the schedule

Im sure plenty of fans feel that way about their team.

I just think gate driven leagues tend to care less, would make sense no?

MLS has this "problem". A lot was invested towards TV money but thanks to a designated player rule teams quickly adopted the NBA approach of just spending as much uncapped money on star talent and filling the rest with recent NCAA grads or other nobody's.

Makes the overall watchability go down quite a bit, people will pay to see said stars live, but less likely to watch them on tv. 3/5 starters being stars=good tv

3/11+3?= a lot of boring soccer.

The only thing I'll add to that is composing a schedule is hardly an easy task, especially when dealing with opposing dates being booked in I'm sure every single venue for every team for the entirety of the season.

Agreed, but the NHL's is peculiar enough that the question definitely needs to be asked.

I think I identifiez rather explicitly my expectations of a 4th liner.
He has played on the 3rd line as well, so I would expect an increase in production from that time

Not sure what your question is about what I want out of him.

Are the bruins bottom six that good or just against us? No clue who any of these guys are and they freaking kill us.
