Seven periods into their Oilers careers, Manning and Petrovic have been on the ice for a combined total of one goal for and 4 and 5 against, respectively, at 5-on-5.

Isn't surprising but Petrovic is proving to be just as bad as his stats this season have shown. Chiarelli's betting on it just being a slump or an aberration has failed (unsurprisingly based on the nature of his game Vs the evolution of the NHL game). |

I had higher hope for him then Manning....I thought maybe an ok bottom pairing guy who might be able to help on the PK.....I might as well just say I’m wrong now and be done with it

Well, I don't think he's been on a for a goal against on the PK yet so that's techincally still true I just can't fathom giving up a 3RD FOR HIM |

Is that better or worse then adding 750k to our cap for this season AND another for a guy who probably isn’t better then Gravel?

Not probably isn't. He isn't. |

So in the end the blueline was no worse for just using Gravel-Benning.....only took an extra cap hit and a 3rd round pick to come to this conclusion....managing at its finest |

Draisatl is elite but I'd think Gio deserves to be there over him. With Calgary where they are in the standings and Gio being a key part of that, seems like a no brainer. |

Watching Connor and Leon doing thier thing 3vs3 would be more fun tho.....Leon should have been in over Pavelski anyways

It's actually provably worse than with Gravel-Benning, but NO, that would constitute evidence-based decision making. |

If it weren't for the fact that the Pacific team already has 3 Dmen. Gotta admit that keeping among the best 3-on-3 duos would make a bunch of sense- especially given he's on pace for 100 points. |

Let’s “fix” the blueline but neglect the forwards....the bottom 6 now has 2 shots in the last 5 periods and the best part is when asked about scoring Hitch says “goals come and they go” what?.....I don’t think he understands this isnt a group you win 2-1 games with |

True, Monahan is on pace for 100 so he should be in the mix. Tkachuk too. Seems crazy that the best team in the west only has one representative, especially since they have the players that deserve to be there. |

I've only been saying this since last season: fix the offense and our problem on D (when healthy) is mostly negated. Get finishing ability and the skill capable of penetrating the scoring areas and lessen the burden on our D and goalies to prevent every goal. I think there's an underestimated pressure put on players of team's that struggle to score. All it takes is two mistakes and you're out of the game. No comeback. |

That's what happens when the host is in your division, unfortunately. I agree Monahan should be in contention for the last man spot (over Giordano, if only because of the three D). |

“RNH has quietly scored 3 goals in his past 5 games and has mostly done so without the help of McDavid“
All of those goals were assisted by Mcdavid |

All of this falls on Chia since it’s his roster.....despite what he says Puju isn’t ready to be up here and Yamamoto should have been left alone....the fact you are asking 2 guys who are 20 to provide offence because no one else can is a sure way to fail....especially when they aren’t ready to do so.....just one of many issues on offence of course

Hey didn’t Todd get fired in San Jose on a Tuesday after the team played a horrible back to back against division rivals? 🤔 |
