All of this falls on Chia since it’s his roster.....despite what he says Puju isn’t ready to be up here and Yamamoto should have been left alone....the fact you are asking 2 guys who are 20 to provide offence because no one else can is a sure way to fail....especially when they aren’t ready to do so.....just one of many issues on offence of course

Precisely. I'm willing to admit my acceptance of the Eberle trade was my failure to recognize the dangerous trend of hemorrhaging talent. Hence my willingness to move on from Nurse if favour of a scorer.

Not to say he'd fix the issue, but there's a reason I've advocated for guys like Pirri every offseason. They might not always be able to score, but they've scored 15 or 20 goals before, are consistent scorers and can be had for next to nothing.

Hey didn’t Todd get fired in San Jose on a Tuesday after the team played a horrible back to back against division rivals? 🤔

I was just talking about Pirri or Carr from Vegas last night on the other blog....that’s a good low risk low salary kind of move that Chia should have been making....try and find those types since you are in cap hell

All his moves do are provide me and anyone paying attention that he fundamentally misunderstands the problems this team is facing. When your top pairing is getting caved and your bottom-4 are holding their own, you don't spend assets on acquiring bottom pairing Dmen to "shore up the blueline".

No, the best thing for the Oilers to do is whatever it takes to get Peter Chiarelli fired. I'm absolutely certain there are conditions that could be met in-season that could lead to his firing. Losing 7 of 8 should definitely be one of those things. Losing to three divisional rivals in a row after bungling a 6-game homestand should be, too. It likely ends up causing the Oilers to miss the playoffs, but the optics are important. The Oilers losing their next 2 games is likely the best thing for their long-term future as it gets them two steps closer to meeting the criteria for Katz to make heads roll in-season.

I don’t think Katz will act till the playoffs are a mathematical impossibly. He’s always been patient with Oiler brass, almost fatally so.

It’s quite obvious he hasn’t understood in a long time....the product on the ice speaks for itself.....tonight’s game is just bad on all levels

This just par for the course, and nothing is going to change, till management pulls there heads out of there butts. This is disgusting. We are coming on 13 years of this poop and management still hasnt figured it out. All of us sitting watching see the problem, how is it so far for them to see the problem. Instead they let moron have control still.

If they lose the next two games, they might as well be mathematically impossible. They're already under 20% chance to make the playoffs iirc.

For those who still actually believed in playoffs a weekend sweep was what this team needed and BAM right back in there....but nope they can’t even show up against the worst scoring team in the league....can’t create offence....can’t play defence....can’t get a save....I don’t even recall seeing any kind of emotion till it was far too late

The thing that really irks me is the lack of emotion, from highly paid players that are struggling. If your getting paid and your not scoring, play the body and show some emotion. This truly remind me of when 2013 when theyd go to Arizona and get blown out.

Im not sure where I was reading this article, but they had a bar graph with the contribution of scoring from the bottom 6. They are not just in last. The gap between them and the next worse team, is bigger than the gap between the second last place, and first.

Yes, it's astounding and yet there are STILL fans that complain about Draisaitl and Nuge.

It's not even a style the game has evolved from. Even 5 years ago teams needed depth scoring
