And secondly, Spooner has 0 to negative trade value. They arent accepting that deal. It would be closer if you didnt include him.
3rd, Puj is approaching negative value now too. He cant produce in the show to date. Just because he has potential doesnt mean another team values him the same. The opposite teams have to look at it completely and say sure he has potential to be a true top 6, but he also has potential to be no more than he actually is now. Look at things from the other team as if you are the GM there too.

Fair critiques but you misunderstand a few things. First, the deal is CLEARLY in the offseason. That's why I denote that Minnesota might want change after another mediocre season.

Next, Spooner isnt there to offer value; he's to help make the cap work. He almost certainly has negative trade value, but cap needs to be moved in any deal with us.

Third, yeah obviously but he's among the only asset we can offer that has a chance at having value. The proposition is more an estimate on the type of pieces I'd be prepared to give up. The deal essentially breaks down to Puljujarvi and Spooner for Coyle and the picks for Zucker, but I can certainly see why they may not love the offer.

I'll happily admit that the deal is undervalue and needs work. This is precisely the process by which "work" is done. Subject it to the scrutiny of public opinion and adjust accordingly. Perhaps it's foolish to pursue both in a single trade.

Totally, those 3 centres are probably top 5 in the league on paper. The foundation is there but maybe this season is lost. Tank and sell off as much as they can with a new GM/coach, call up a bunch of AHL guys to see what you have and go from there. Seems like the best option to me.

Tanking hasn’t exactly worked out too well for us at this point I don’t see too much happening till the off season.....lots of dead weight to get rid of and it’s not like teams will line up to take it off our hands....in fact it appears that we are the team that takes on other teams dead weight
