To the Leafs : Dan Girardi (40% salary retained by Tampa)
To the Lightning : future considerations (bag of pucks, signed Gritty jersey, case of beer, box of donuts, or 15th round pick). - GalacticStone
Case of beer? We are Canadians, thats a hard NO. |

Boeser did literally nothing. Marner turned him inside out, multiple times. Just because you don't score on a shift, doesn't mean that you didn't completely dominate it.
It was a trap game for the Canucks.
Leafs were fortunate to face them on their 3rd game in 4 nights.
More examples of Hughson's ineptitude. - GreatGigInTheSky
Leafs having less offensive zone faceoffs than the Nucks was mentioned multiple times at 3-0. Which was a fact. But it was the connotation of the fact that was funny.
Also, Pouliot is a great dman was said, which was nice. |

Hutch looked good again. - Fakepartofme
I honestly didnt like his first game much, I thought he was moving too much in the net, and had pretty poor rebound control.
In the second game I thought he was much sounder in net, and looked more relaxed. If he plays like that he could take Sparks job. |

Normally I would say stop embarrassing your fellow Leaf fan with a proposal like this. However, with the return Erik Karlsson got, I'm not sure I can accurately assess a fair deal again. Perhaps you can load up on lower tier parts to get one good asset. - BetterCallSaul
I don’t think CAR does that for Hamilton.
I think you have to give to get but in this case there is a really good fit for both sides.
Kap, 1st, Holl
Hamilton + a solid prospect makes sense.
Carolina gets some scoring plus 4 picks in the first two rounds in which they can deal for some more help up front at the draft. |

Your initial argument that there is a definite media bias towards Ontario, and Toronto in particular across Canada is well noted. You have nearly a third of the nation's population there, and there is no language issue surrounding the large populace - so it's going to draw the most media attention.
Ignoring the bias that Hughson brings to a game is silly. It's not just the Leafs. When he commentates a Cancuks / Oilers game, or a Canucks / Flames game - it's no different and ridiculously evident.
But in the case of Hughson, he does not like Toronto. Pay attention to how he delivers messages. If Toronto is playing Boston, and there's a Leaf penalty, he'll say, "And Boston gets a chance to take the lead."; if there's a Boston penalty, he'll say, "And Boston has to put their top ranked Penalty Kill to the test." If he mentions Toronto in these contexts, it's in a negative light - "The Leafs Penalty Kill which surrendered 3 to Boston in a playoff game last year is on the ice." Bias is demonstrated by the presentation of the subject.
Your point may not be too far off, though, because I recall always having a general feeling that Harry Neale couldn't stand Toronto either. His colour commentary was always negative regarding the Leafs, with the lone exception of Sundin. But in hindsight, I miss Harry Neale. - Monkeypunk
Cole and Neale were my favourite combo by far. Neale was quite funny, great counterpoint to Cole's dramatic tone. |

Goaltending is a pretty tough position to play mentally. I’d give him a free pass on that game and he proved that to me with his last performance. |

I waived his 1st game. Just got traded and tossed in a game that the leafs play poorly defensively. Heck babcock didnt even have time to say hi to him. |

The Sens are in last place.
And they don't have their own first round picks.
I feel like it's important to remind everyone of how awesome this is. |

Was on a road trip a few years back with some friends........Saturday night game in Montreal and a Sunday match in NJ.
After the NJ game, I bumped into Neale and asked him his thoughts on the Leaf game the night before.....
Harry turns to me and says “it was an absolute abortion” without breaking stride !!
He seems like a miserable old bastard !!! |

Except the 1st pick overall wouldn't help them as much as it's going to help the AVS.

Ha! He does at that, but I can appreciate miserable old bastards more than I can appreciate misrepresenting what's happening to fit a narrative. He was also pretty funny at times. |
