I'm getting a negative tone from you on this. Hopefully this isn't so. That lineup isn't too shabby and is a great improvement on what we already have.

It's actually not that bad. In fact, I like it. I think that a Nielsen/Nyquist package would be a great pickup considering that Lucic is involved.

Neilsen has been productive throughout this season (24 points in 40 games) and through his tenure in the 30's. He gets a bad rep due to his contract, but I think it ain't that bad once you look at the numbers. At the very least a top 9 center (based on stats) that would further bolster our depth at centre.

Nyquist is nyquist. A top 6 winger.

We would probably need to send Kassian or some other player to balance out the cap. Again this is just an idea, so please critique and modify it.

How about you swap Nurse with Yamo? I'll add in Kassian too (helps balance the cap for us and give you a functional bottom 6 forward). No way do we give up Nurse like that.

I'm assuming that a contract extension with Nyquist would be agreed upon in order to make the deal (my bad, I should have mentioned that).

While Nielsen's contract is no where near ideal, he gives us quite a good amount of options in the top 9 for now and possibly 1-2 more years. Last two years will most likely suck, but buying him out at that point won't be as bad as buying out lucic. Lucic's contract is 1 year longer and 1m more expensive per year. Sure Nielsen is older, but he has been performing at consistent levels throughout his 30's.
