Only ottawa has less points. why are the Flyers 4th?

I don't know the exact ruling but I think it's overall winning percentage and then the winning percentage against each other

Exactly, many factors come into play. It's not as simple as the best players are going to play or this or that guy stinks get rid of them. If it was that easy why would every team carry crappy players?

Just like Hart's situation, if there weren't so many goaltending injuries he probably would never of played a game for the Flyers this year, but the fact he has gotten a taste of real NHL action has increased his development. Development doesn't really start until you know what the big show is really about.

I'm anticipating a few guys getting their shots after TDL. Most of the moves we make will most likely be of the rental variety so can't see anything more than picks or prospects coming back. Simmer will only bring us picks in return. Depth goalie, Amac, Raffl, etc. The bigger deals will happen around draft.

I can't imagine anyone "wanting" Amac unless injuries really decimated their blue line. Desperate playoff contender.

I think we get a win. Hart plays well and G's line steps up.

Our only hope is that Maroon is still a healthy scratch 😀

Oh wait, you’re talking about tonight’s Flyers game? Um, well, uh, sure, I mean it’s a hockey game and uh Hart is starting so um..... uh...

Yeah, I got nothing

Probably the one team I'm not scared of our poop squad facing right now.

That said, I'm sure they'll find a way to make it interesting.

I always root against Darth Saban.

As far as the Flyers, I am in "don't care" mode for this team/season that needs to do full reboot.

Start NOW and it will get here quicker.

Move salary, prove you are serious.

Full. Reboot.

What constitutes a "full rebuild" at this point? Just moving as many pieces as possible?

For me I want to move on from Simmonds, Jake & AMac. Also need to assess who will be backing up Hart moving forward because they can't rely on Neuvy any longer.

This is the only sport where one guy takes all the heat for everyone else. Thanks to that piece of cloth stitched his jersey I suppose.

Could you imagine people calling out leaders like Utley or Rollins because the rest of the team wasn't hitting? Or Cox or Jenkins because the corners can't make a stop? It really is absurd. Better get on Emiid because Fultz can't hit a shot.

If we make Frost and Myers off limits and only were willing to trade our 1st if it's top 10 protected do you think we could still come up with a deal for Duchene(assuming we could agree to an extension first).

The glaring omission in regards to what is off limits there is Farabee. I'd hate to lose him but if it's true he intends on finishing college I could see Fletch dangling him given the front office apparently wasn't too happy with Hextall taking on so many long term prospects.

Just an idea. Farabee for Duchene with an extension in place would be a pretty fair trade off imo.

I am all for players cooking to work on aspects of their game or to become more ready for the NHL grind (physically and mentally), but spending 3-4 years in the minors only gets you so far. I don't expect a 19 or 20 year old kid to jump into the NHL unless they are one of the few that are already physically/mentally mature enough to handle it, but eventually you have to give kids a taste. Calling someone up doesn't mean they are obligated to stay.

I think the biggest issue of need right now for the Flyers is skating and positional play for their forwards. They have too much muck that does very little for the team. The more of that they can get rid prior to next season the better.

Move any legit expensive piece as long as you, the GM think the return is worth it. Such as a legit, NHL ready prospect or a young proven pro. This is why the GM is hired and fired.

Expensive means any player who is on a payday contract, never their first.

Think about G & V & JVR 3 years from now, if that is your plan. There is a great chance they will be diminishing returns.

I believe we could have cheaper replacements by then.

Move them now, sign some vets and draft well.

I totally forgot about JVR tbh. If there is a taker this off-season I seriously consider it. I think we're going to be praying he's gone by the end of year 3 tbh.

But is there any interest from Duchene to play for Flyers. He was toxic players in Colorado?

That's the biggest issue I see with Farabee is staying in school which is another 3 years away. He will only be 21 though and could be the scorer the Flyers desperately need. Duchene scares me, everyone is focused on his contract year performance in Ottawa, but he could easily become the player he was tail end in Colorado.

Duchene isnt going to be worth what it’s going to cost to re-sign him, let alone what it will cost to acquire him.
