Does any other team skate themselves into trouble more than the Hawks? It’s like they are intending to just go through defenders instead of making an open pass or outlet...
- Chunk

Or pass it right into the skates of the defender

The terrible decision by Saad cost the Hawks the game, then the team went through the motions after that score
- BetweenTheDots

Yep, team changing and he does a blind pass at the o-zone blue line...quick counterattack to the lethal Johnny Hockey.

Blues won, Hawks loose, go Kings! Also love seeing Alabama getting blown out!

The goalie was down early, Artie shot high. At least a shot was taken. If he holds on and loses it, would everyone be ok with that?

Thanks, PE. You had my back for extra/missed coverage, haha.

You really have to wonder what Saad is thinking, you defend for over a minute and he doesn't understand he needs to dump the puck in, one of the Hawks players who doesn't understand the game of hockey.

Delia with a 929 save%, how good does a goalie have to be to win for this team

Such a dilemma on their hands if Corey returns from IR. Right now, Delia's play and stats are better than 2018-19 Corey and Ward, both. Ward has the NMC so he can't be sent down or waived. Maybe it doesn't matter since they almost certainly won't make playoffs. However, would like to see if Delia can hack it in a 1A/1B situation rest of the year. We may have to use him as our #1 next year.

Side note, but heard Kane mention in his interview between 1st and 2nd that his dad has traveled to (from Buffalo?)/been at EVERY game this year. Have seen him at a couple of open practices over years and he was at the CPHL summer league games. The kid is 30 years old and has been a star in the NHL for 10 years. None of my business, obviously, but struck me as somewhat creepy stage parent behavior.

turned the corner...NO

stopped the bleeding...Yes

they have enough offense to hang around and pull some games out...but my gawd they are defensive dumpster fire...how about the 3rd so far

1. the whole team heads for a change and they get burned
2. delia is in a funckn shooting gallery making save after save, phlems should have 4 at the 10 minute mark..''

over 40 shots and 25 scoring chances...

there are only 2 reasons to watch this team:

1. patrick kane
2. can the goalies miraculously hold score to to 3 or less...

- bogiedoc

Thought the boys had a decent 40 minute effort today. Thoroughly outplayed in the 3rd yet still in it because of Delia

I think they know what they have in Delia. He looks smooth, quiet and comfortable. Very articulate and thoughtful in the post game interview. I was impressed about how he talked about working on getting better.

I think the hawks should play ward every four games out of five and keep delia’s Confidence from being destroyed....not going to be winning too many when he’s facing 40+ shots a night.

I was thinking they should have done it 20 seconds earlier when they were in the O zone for so long skating around the perimeter.
- matt_ahrens

Agreed they should have done it earlier but I prefer 5 on 4 to 6 on 4. Think the sixth attacker clutters up the zone and exposes you to the open net shorty when you already have a man advantage.

Meh, his kid makes $10.5mil a year to play hockey which means Elder Kane never has to work a day in his life. I’d watch NHL games in the 100 level all week and travel around the country...for FREE!

Whatever Elder Kane is or isn’t, he raised a champion and superstar pro athlete...so he did something right!

I think they'll focus on the college kids tbh. One of or both of Mitchell and Barrett will be the priority to get under contract and into Rockford.
- fattybeef

I would like to see a bunch of forward signings as a number of guys look to be ready for Rockford.

Entwistle and Hagel are already signed. Could sign Olofsson, Kurashev, Soderlund and Hakkarainen. Maybe Coughlin and Starrett could be added on AHL contracts initially. Would be a logjam unless guys move up or out though. (Below is more of a list than proposed line combos):

Fortin - Ejdsell - Highmore
Knott - Johnson - Iacopelli
T. Sikura - Louis - Noel
Hagel - Kurashev - Entwistle
Olofsson - Soderlund - Hakkarainen
(AHL?) Coughlin - Starrett - Bondra

Lots of interesting players, and as was noted a few days ago, separating the wheat from the chaff is the difficult part. I think there are a few players (wheat) in there which is all that's needed; just have to keep the right ones.

He shot high from a horrible angle. There was at least one blackhawk in front of the net, so if he kept his shot low there could have been a rebound to be buried.

BS right Continue with your this team is crap narrative if that what makes you happy, it your right . HAWKS are doing much better under JC .And Stan trades are looking better when the coach is on the same page . To bad Rocky is loyal to a fault .Had have moved Q and his enormous ego out earlier ,and the HAWKS would be in a lot better shape .Still not out of it yet ..GO HAWKS !!

I can confidently say that if I played in the NHL, my dad wouldn’t miss a game.
Especially if I played for a team with a major airport hub, like Chicago/Boston/NY/LA and flying direct in/out was easy

If you trade them as a pair then based on Edmonton's cap problems you will have to take back Lucic and still Edmonton would have to clear cap space to make it work. I wouldn't want Lucic, even if it means we keep Seabrook. I think Seabrook is faster than Lucic. Just saw Edmonton play the Kings and the Ducks over the weekend, Martinsen at this stage is a better hockey player than Lucic
- LAHawk

From everything I have read as of lately, Edmonton sounds like they want to make a serious shake up , names have been floated mcdavid , drasaitli.

Would a deal of Keith, Seabrook, saad , anismov and maybe a 1st

For klef, Jesse p, Talbot, either mcdavid or drasaitli and lucic as a cap dump?

Any thoughts what's evryones thoughts

The hawks are like Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde . Yes they have made some slight improvements, but they still lack skill and talent.

The defense has improved from a standpoint of not running around and getting roasted in the first 5 minutes of a game, but the offense doesn't have the talent to be a real threat.

Delia I believe has earned the net and the hawks should play him as if he was being groomed to assume the net full time next season having ward as the elder statemen to help groom him.

Crawford is done even if he does come back I don't see that happening until next year and then he plays the back up roll.

They are happy now with their goaltending so really with it being this late into the season and Chicago has no real chance this year why rush things.

You're dreaming if you think the Hawks have the pieces to get McDavid. Personally, I highly doubt he's on the market, but the only way the Hawks get him is if they give up Keith, Boqvist, ADB and their #1 pick for the next two years.
Giving up an aging, but good D, a potential top 6 LW, and two has-beens is not getting McDavid, even if we have Lucic coming back.

I'm not so sure it would cost Chicago that much. I hear what your saying , however Edmonton has lately been talking about shaking things up in a serious way.remember Edmonton has no cap space and not much in assets so something like a drasaitli or mcdavid would be them only pieces that can get you some assets back however needing to free up cap space.

I guess you could add debrincant to that deal . Let's see what Stan does or doesn't do, seabrook IMO is a August or September move to a team needing to reach the floor.

Keith , saad , anismov are trade deadline deals.

Draisaitl and McDavid, I think, are off the table. Franchise faces. I think tvetter is dead on with what the hawks would have to give up, if not close. Edm wouldn't trade young superstar players, minus Lucic, for 4 lackluster and older players. Personally, I still like what they bring to the table, but aren't enough for that blockbuster deal. I think these trade ideas are interesting to discuss, among other things, but I wouldn't believe everything that I read.
