I disagree, the habitual beating of the dead horse is what has run its course. As sure as the hawks suck this season, you will see pages of fire stan, seabrook sucks, Mcdonut is an idiot, etc. Last season it was Toews as the daily whipping boy. At least Darth breaks up the non-sense.

If StL had his way I could simply hit a “likes” button instead of having to post, “Agree”.

But I do so I am. Love a dose of Darth’s humor especially when it gets mistaken for a real post.

I’ve tried to lay the groundwork for a Darth codebreaker in the past and urged people to apply the 90/10 rule or Sirloin Rule if you will, when reading his posts.

Oh well.

I don't know how many times a Darth post has made me laugh. I agree with all of this.

I respect your opinion. However Chicago is more than 1 top 6 away. Saad is to inconsistent and kahun is a nice 3rd line player , strome and Kane need a bonafied top 6 guy.

Drake, kampf and Perlini are nice but after that what does Chicago really have bottom depth wise, they need a solid 3c who can contribute 40 to 50 points bring some size and solid playmaking with speed to compliment kahun and Debrincant

Keith or Seabrook 1 of them has to be moved to clear a roster spot and cap space to bring up 2 kids one who can be a 7th d and 1 who can play top 4 Mitchell, beaudin ,boyquist .

I'm all for moving anisomov and saad.

- Taylorst1

I still believe Saad is a top 6 player and will be here next year, he has to just get more consistent with his scoring, which I think will come. I also think the cat plays top 6 next year, so all they need is a RW to play with Toews.

Be careful what you wish for with the bolded above, as you trade even one of them away and you will only have one experienced D man to mentor all of these young guys...I think you need both of them to help mentor, and Keith is still a top pairing defenseman in my opinion.

I still think Kieth can be top pairing but is more suited for top 4 right now. I can see Seabs in more of a mentor role.

For some reason just don’t see that with Keith, based on some comments and things I’ve read on Keith...mostly about how pissed he gets when someone (frank)s up, which I’m not sure Is the right tenor to take in a mentoring role.

Yeah, I honestly think there's a deal to be made with Ottawa or Toronto, especially if Dundon is willing to spend the money to sign Duchene or Stone.
- BINGO!

Would you be willing to do a Nylander for Hamilton deal?

Leafy fans keep talking up Nylander, but he's have a trash season and may now be overpaid.

Thoughts?

Damn Keith! What good is he if he can't be a mentor? Never shoulda drafted him! Stan sucks!

Saad is being paid 6 mil per to be a top line forward not a 2/3rd line tweener. His scoring has been down for a year and a half now. He looks better on the PK then on 5 on 5 half the time. That is all effort and hockey IQ. No way he should be more dangerous on the PK then on 5 on 5. He also doesn't hit anyone or bring anything physicality wise. 23 hits in 43 games.

I don't agree with this "mentor" idea. That's what the coaching staff is for. What multiple cup winning d-men was on the Hawks active roster that mentored Keith, Seabrook, and Hammer? None.

Gus now is on a six-game point streak and has 18 points in his last 20 games. He’s tied with Hedman, Ristolainen, and Krug for 15th among d-men in points (more than Doughty, OEL, Werenski).

But people still want to showcase him for a TDL move, or want him in a reduced role period.

Just asinine.

When Joker gets inserted into the lineup, hopefully he’s the one in a reduced role as he gets eased in. He’s only got 6 points in his last 29 games (after starting the year with 5 points in the first 3 games).

Keith - Gus
Dahlstrom - Murphy
Joki - Seabrook

That’s what I want to see for the time being. No point in taking Gus off the top pairing while he’s sizzling.

That's great...if he was a forward. But, his defense is horrendous. He needs to be bottom 4 and on the PP. But watching that goal the other night where he's just standing there while the opposing player was wide open was infuriating. Plus, he's not great at making quick decisions with the puck which leads to chances. It's great that he's scoring...but if he's still a -8 and a -.4 EV Goals. I'd say trade high and get something while you can.

Except that they had already been on the team and in the system for years at the point that they won the cup. Although, one thing I forgot about, is that Brookbank is now the assistant coach and can help with coaching the young defensemen. Any chance Seabrook retires and the hawks offer him a coaching job with AHL or ECHL? Probably not is what most of you will say, due to the money.

That was a really fun game to watch. The Flames have a really good team. Lots of back and forth.

Saad was better on the RW so that he could attack the net in transition and straight up clowned dudes. Now that he is on the LW all he can do is skate straight and Kirk Hinrich around the zone. He is playing fine keeping that in mind. Id move him back over and Kahun down.

Trading DeBrincat is very not smart. The lil guy is a gamer and works really hard in the off season. I think they're better served waiting for a kid or two on the blueline then coming off a talent like that.

Considering the roster, not a lot to complain about last night. Entertaining game, they were in it all 60 (though with some goaltending help) and had some really good stretches. Good stuff to build on.

Can’t spell Duchene without douche...we’ll almost anyway. I wouldn’t want that cancer anywhere near a team I profess to like.

Too bad Hossa isn't retired instead of banished to Phoenix on LTIR. I would love him behind our bench to help coach up players like Saad.
