I think they are hoping Crawford will mentor Delia and back up Delia.

- Taylorst1

I thought you said something about players dont mentor/teach other players and that the coaches job is to do that? But now keep Corey to mentor him??

First, I think you'll be fine with Rittich, he was amazing last night.

Both CC and Ward have NMC, so they'd have to waive to head to Calgary. Plus, no idea if CC even makes it back this season, or ever. But yes, if he'd waive, I'd take a 3/4 round pick for him. He's not part of the long term plan.

I was in Calgary for the 88 Olympics. Beautiful city.

- scottak

Yea I'm hoping Rittich is consistent cause he could be real promising given his age. Top teams tend to have a good supporting goalie too though cause not everyone is perfect in each game. Don't think Smith could stop the bleeding if Rittich goes cold for a game or two.

Thanks man almost had another bid but it was recently shut down. Never been out to Chi-city but maybe one day. Love the energy of the arena.

I’m seriously beginning to think we may have see Crawford’s last game.

As a hawk or full-time? Unfamiliar with his injury although it seems like he's been struggling to stay healthy lately.

Justin anymore intel on Edmonton and hawks potential trade partners regarding Seabrook or Keith? Personally i think hawks should wait until TDL and trade AA kruger kunitz and possibly saad and keith. One thing Edmonton is not trading mcdavid.

I did say that . Crawford has 1 more season on his contract and Delia is playing outstanding Crawford now has had 2 concussions that has kept him out. So it would make sense next year to give the reins to delia with Crawford being his back up that allows Delia to gain more confidence and Crawford to still play on a limited basis. That's mentoring.

If StL had his way I could simply hit a “likes” button instead of having to post, “Agree”.

But I do so I am. Love a dose of Darth’s humor especially when it gets mistaken for a real post.

I’ve tried to lay the groundwork for a Darth codebreaker in the past and urged people to apply the 90/10 rule or Sirloin Rule if you will, when reading his posts.

Oh well.

I tend to agree

He and his family were pictured at his birthday party over the new year’s holiday with Bickell and his family. Took that as a good sign for him.

is Ward signed for this season only? if yes, you pick up $2MM by having Delia as CC backup? and if CC is gone, then you pick up another 2-4MM
- glennjpawlak22

Yep, good point. The key will be to determine whether or not Delia can be a #1 tender.

She was involved in the Schmaltz trade to Arizona I think. Check their message board and see if she’s over there? Lol

Sikura does not play center. He has offensive skills but he showed he is not ready yet. He is too easily knocked off the puck and is not enough of a dynamic skater to avoid getting knocked off the puck. He can make quick plays so I'm optimistic he can find his niche at some point but that isn't now.
- EbonyRaptor

Explanation why Sikura and Schmaltz cannot cut it as top six forwards. I know that Schmaktz has put up sone numbers with Phoenix......comparable to Blackhawks team winning the conference then humbled by Nashville when they were badly outhit and outplayed. Schmaltz can garner points usually almost entirely if maybe on a protected line or in non physical checking game. It would a disappointment if Sikura is too much like this.

All the more reason and PROOF for Stan to trade or draft a power forward with good size whom has ability to play in top six. This is not Perlini. It may however be someone to select in the 2019 Entry Draft. I hope such a player is available or if Stan to find a way to draft/trade for the type forward we badly need.

I don’t think I’ve seen Perlini finish a check since the trade. Kappo Kakko would be fun with Kane and Strome

Sikura is just not ready. Bowman was wrong to say he was ready for the NHL.

Schmaltz and Panarin have a similar skill set except Panarin is unreal on his edges and Schmaltz was faster straight line.

Biggest difference in my mind is that Panarin attacks the middle of the ice and will punish defenders who overcommit or give space. Schmaltz was more content to skate around the outside and defer rather than be aggressive. Johnny Gaudreau attacks defenders and the middle of the ice and makes plays kind of like Panarin. DeBrincat goes to the middle of the ice and has consistently produced with anyone. Nothing to do with skill or size just the way he played. Some guys go out to destroy and others are content to defer.

Edmonton getting waxed by Sharks. Need a quality dman EDM ????

What a nice job Dougie Wilson has done with that team. I'd love to get him back here someday but I'm sure he'd never leave California, all be it San Jose.

Here's a thought.....Sharks scored on a Penalty Shot and wouldn't it be great if that team ALSO got to continue with a PP as well ? Same as the delayed call....score after pulling your goalie and also get your PP. It would sure shake up some point totals.....then again....maybe not....but it would be fun to watch.
Cmon Rules committee.....the game needs a little boost of excitement.

Could not agree with you more, let’s go back to last year’s draft, I was one that was hoping he would find a way to trade up to the top three or four, even if it meant giving up both First round picks, and draft Brady Tkachuk, well looks like he is probably going to win the rookie of the year award. Regarding Dylan Sikura ,You’re right on as far is the type of player comparing him to Nick Schmaltz definitely no balls, he will be a bust And probably just continue to play in the AHL or overseas once the Blackhawks cut him loose in a year or two .Schmaltz on the other hand will not be a Bust completely but I don’t think he’s going to carry the star power the team originally made him out to be.

Have heard this argument from other posters over the year and totally agree with this position. If you get hooked on a breakaway, for example, and still score, I would say that’s just the continuation of the play and shouldn’t negate the penalty from being imposed. Think it would and some excitement to any already exciting sport.

While we’re at it, I believe they should (1) get rid of the trapezoid and let the goalie play the puck anywhere and (2) add a rectangularly lined area outside the benches that would require a player leaving the ice to be inside before a player could jump off the bench to replace him. This would eliminate the ambiguity of what an acceptable change would be. This is not my original idea but I would name this the “fly zone”.

Given that they've scratched Brandon Manning the last couple of games, they might be hesitant to add more defensemen castaways from the Blackhawks.

You may not be far off, for that to happen obviously they would have to get a top 2pick,
Jokiharu kind of in a Roundabout way is lobbying for such a thing. And if he comes back and plays very well, his word may carry a lot of weight.

I feel bad for the guy. His contract is expiring at the end of the year and I'm sure he was hoping for a big long term deal. Now he'll need some recovery time and probably a short term deal to see if he can recover. I seriously wondered if earlier in the year he was playing to not get hurt but even if he was, it's rough timing for him.

Okay, thanks, Ogi. That was my guess, or all of the personal attacks. A totally understandable reason. Everything is treated like it's going to hell, and optimism is delusional. I've been told about the negativity during the playoff runs and cup victories.
