He was supposed to be back in Chicago last night. There was no word on whether he would be back in the lineup today.

Ok, thank you. Looking forward to seeing #28 again, his confidence has to be sky-high after the WJC.

Kurashev might be signing after this season. He could go to the AHL because of his late birthday. Really liked what I saw from him at the WJC, but you can't base a full evaluation on one tournament where his team is the big time underdog and he's the absolute go-to guy. I still liked his speed and compete, not afraid to shoot either.

Same story as everywhere else he has been.

He scored his first goal in 15 games the other night, is 9G, 5A on the season, with 8 of those points in the first 10 games or so. At current pace 25pts may be a stretch.

Started the year hot then played his way into Torts doghouse.

Those rookie numbers look like a pipe dream to happen again.

all the bowman bashers were out in full force when duclair had that hot start...

he will be out of the league by this time next year...

Everyone thought Strome was a bust too, sometimes a change of scenery is the best for parties involved. I don't know what happened to Spooner, he was a nice little player in Boston, and even after he went to New York late last season. As for Puljujarvi, another risky possible bust, but could be the big scoring wing the Hawks have been looking for. I actually like the trade prposal, but would Dunc go to Edmonton? Doubtful.
- ChicagoHope

Yeah I'd do that trade myself, you're right. Think Keith would waive his NTC for TOR for Babcock or Winnipeg to go back home. Not sure what you get back from Winnipeg though.

I think with a Toronto deal you will see more of a hockey trade, where as WPG would be picks and a prospect.

I thought he was just born in Winnipeg, but what he calls home was Penticton BC.

Where does he live in the off season, and more importantly where does his son live. I believe that will be a factor in his decision.

JC and Stan need some stick taps.

Via trade - Murphy, Strome, Perlini, Caggiula,
Via draft Joki, Dahlstrom, ADB (Draft pick via trade),
Via FA signings - Kahun, Kampf, Delia, Colliton
On the way - Boquist, Kurashev, Entwistle, Hillman, Beaudin, etc

Created some cap space along the way.

And yes I know he over paid for Seabs and traded Panarin.

And yes I know Uncle Dale drafted Kane, Toews, Crow, Seabs and Keith. Beginning in 1998 as Director of Player personnel, then Asst GM, then GM he also had a hand in making the team so bad for years that they had high draft picks.

- -Doh-

Ian Mitchell is more NHL ready than all of those guys and Hillman is MEH 3rd pair at best. Perlini and Caggiula are best suited as 4th liners from what I can see so far. Perlini seems to lack vision/awareness on the ice depsite having the physical tools to be a good NHL player.

Perlini to me seems a lot like Panik in that regard.

Agreed. They're ok for 3rd line now but not on a contender. Kampf and Kahun are perfect for 3rd line, especially Kahun. 4th line of Perlini/Kampf/Caggiula next season would be pretty stout.

I think he looked like a 4th line pest with speed. Not the worst move to dump Manning and take a scratch off ticket with him. At worst they can bring him back as a cheap RFA and bury him in the Rock next year.

whats the story with Duclair in Columbus?
- glennjpawlak22

Bottom 6 energy guy that can provide some secondary scoring on the power play. Wasnt impressed with him off the puck when here but man does he have some wheels.

Joki-dokey is back ... hell yeah! Is he going back to Keith, or is Magic Gus staying in that spot?

Good news. I'd reunite him with Keith:

Keith - Jokiharju
Dahlstrom - Murphy
Gustafsson - Seabrook
Davidson

Send down Forsling to get more seasoning and solidify his confidence level in the D zone.

Give that 3rd pair sheltered ES minutes and give Gustafsson as much PP time he can take on.

While I see Colliton still giving PP time to Keith and Seabrook, I would prefer to start giving Jokiharju the experience. His confidence is sky high now after the WJC. He definitely has the skill and competitive fire.

Agree, a 4th line with Perlini, Kampf, and Caggiula is a good start for next season or possible upgrades to one or both wingers if management decides to cut bait. Kampf is a given as 4C, IMHO.

I don't mind Kahun as a 3rd liner. He's not a top 6 forward. Get him a center like Nelson and another gifted winger like Sikura, then that 3rd line looks more than decent.

I loved Joki running the Finns power play. When he shot (often just using a quick wrister) he got it through the first layer for a tip or a rebound. As mentioned dbefore, his experience he is gaining this year really showed, he looked like a man among boys.

I hear you on Kahun. He is very active, but seems to get lost in the play and not able to really read what Toews and Saad are trying to do away from the puck. One thing that I like about Kahun is that he will actually take the shot if he has the puck in the slot. Who knows, maybe with a year of experience on the NA ice and an offseason with the team/Colliton, he can be more than what he is now.

Still not definite he's playing, but thank God. I'm getting tired of being wrong all the damn time!

Thanks, SS.

Henri Jokiharju skated in Chicago this morning, but will not play tonight vs. Calgary. #Blackhawks will roll with same lineup, except Collin Delia gets the start.

Okay, thanks. I knew Powers said tonight or Wednesday for 28's return. Should be a good game. I hope Delia gets a little bit more help than his last start. And by little, I mean a lot.

With you on Kahun's potential. He has the tools, just needs more NHL experience and consistency. As of today he's not a top 6 forward despite playing with Toews nearly all season. However, he could still get there and become a bona fide 1st liner.

Regardless, he would be a solid 3rd liner today and the future. His role next year depends on what Stan does at the TDL and this summer during the draft, free agency, and trade market. Either way, he is a top 9 forward with versatility.
