If you trade them as a pair then based on Edmonton's cap problems you will have to take back Lucic and still Edmonton would have to clear cap space to make it work. I wouldn't want Lucic, even if it means we keep Seabrook. I think Seabrook is faster than Lucic. Just saw Edmonton play the Kings and the Ducks over the weekend, Martinsen at this stage is a better hockey player than Lucic

You're looking at it wrong. The biggest thing Stan has to offer is cap space. He can afford to absorb a high cap hit, so he can be the third team in a trade. We give up a late pick and take a bad contract plus a high draft pick/A prospect.

I can't see how a Keith trade to EDM works. First, EDM doesn't have any Cap space left which means the Hawks would either have to take back the same Cap hit or retain salary and take back a smaller Cap hit. The only player on EDM with a Cap hit that would work is Lucic and hopefully that doesn't happen. Retaining salary means the Hawks would be saddled with that retained salary against their Cap for all remaining years of Keith's salary which is through 2022-23.

EDM has their top-4 d-men in Nurse, Klefbom, Larsson and Russell. Klefbom is on IR and is supposed to be out until sometime in February so although Keith could step into his LD role it would only need to be for a month or so. If Chia was looking for a long term solution why would he have just made two trades for short term solutions by acquiring Petrovik and Manning.

By the way - Kahun has played 44 games and has 6 goals, 11 assists for 17 points and Strome has played 20 games and has 7 goals and 7 assists for 14 points. I think Strome is doing OK.

He'll get traded if the hawks get a decent return. I wouldn't trade him if we don't get at least a 1st + top prospect / player with high upside. Like Kap from Toronto and to a lesser extent, Puj from EDM.
