He was an embarrassment

I choose to see his tenure as a net positive, we have Eichel and almost certainly Dahlin because of him.

Sabres future D core looking pretty good.
We are stacked on the left side, actually need to get rid of one or two especially if Guhle can make the jump.
Right side looking like reinforcements on the way in Laaksonen, Samuelsson, and Borgen over the next 2 - 3 years

- IonSabres

Those young prospects always look good.

I doubt any of them hit McCabe or risto levels of success.

Core nhl defenseman are hard to come by

If that's what he was brought into do, he did a fine job.

I doubt any team goes to the extreme as he did.

Coaching?

When we're not sure why wingers and centers can't score?

Berglund was playing way under his previous point totals before he quit
Sobotka had 30 points last year
Okposo way under career average
Sheary 20 plus games with 1 empty netter
Erod 2 goals
Ellie BIG 0
Sam on pace for 17 not 25 like last year

Skinner and eichel doing well off eichels talent

Mitts and tage below expectations
Angry larry freelancing for 4 goals

- Boss34

Told you before, I just don't see a compelling case that it's coaching. Sheary gets top 6 ice time, PP time, and 70% ozone starts. What could the coaches possibly be doing to hurt his production?

I just see a group that is lacking both play makers and finishers.

The real test for Housley is next year IMO

And using 5 goalies. On purpose, not because of injury. Maybe Makarov got that one start because Hackett got a concussion? I don't remember what year he got hurt.

The only difference between the 14-15 Sabres and the 83-84 Pens is that Teddy wasn't in on it. The Pens brought in a guy who had a lifetime coaching record of 6-20-6 9 years after his last head coaching experience. And he admitted to being in on it. Teddy almost (frank)ed it up with that scrappy bunch. I think the goalie trades speak volumes about his willingness, or lack thereof, to tank.

Hoping the Blues can string some wins together here. I’d love to have three cracks at getting a stud winger or centre in this years draft. There could be some really good players in the 10-20 range that could be core guys for us in a couple of years.

Gaudreau Monahan Lindholm may be the best line in the NHL.

Gaudreau has 59 points with Monahan.

Interesting as a contract comparable for Skinner.
6 years at $6.75M started in 2016-17 season.
He puts up better numbers than Skinner and is a steal at that contract for his production.

Maybe Stinson is correct in a proper valuation for Skinner is less that the $8-$9m floated in the media. And hopefully they can get him on a 6 year deal versus 8. I'd rather make that determination of value at 32/33 years old at that time, not now.
I know Gadeau's situation was different, especially with Skinner being 4 years older (UFA) and coupled with exploding production in the contract year, but maybe (hopefully) not as bad as we think.

I'd be ok with up to $8.25M for Skinner, but again on a 6 year deal....$8.0M for an 8 year deal

Defenseman Jake Muzzin is the Los Angeles Kings’ most realistic trade chip. He’s also got a year left on his deal with a reasonable cap hit ($4 million) but the asking price could start with a first-round pick. "

"Edmonton Oilers winger Jesse Puljujarvi, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect defenseman Timothy Liljegren, Hurricanes winger Micheal Ferland, Rangers winger Mats Zuccarello, and Minnesota Wild winger Nino Niederreiter take up spots 11 to 15. "

what did Liljegren do to get in the doghouse?

I mean they need D

Yeah, it’s just bad luck. You would have hoped with all the picks Murray had he’d have hit a home run in the mid rounds.

Even Guhle has been underwhelming

I think it's time to move Guhle

The time to move Guhle was last year when his value was sky high. I still think he could be moved but he won’t be as attractive as he would have been last year.

it goes a little deeper then that with okposo, when you figure games missed

okposo had .7 ppg in his first 2 seasons with jack or ror

this season okposo has .238 ppg

maybe it's the center play for the drop off to be this big

- homiedclown

1st year: .69 PPG

Last year .557 PPG

This year: .38 PPG

It's decreased every year. Idk where you got the .7 number though

okposo played 141 games in his first 2 seasons, got 99 points

hence 0.70212 ppg

89, not 99.

So .63, and that's buoyed by his pre-concussion season
