Personally, I don't believe there is such a thing as "running up the score" you can't ask would be professional athletes to take it easy. You drill into them to play hard for the full 60+ minutes, to challenge in all three zones, to win every battle. If you don't like getting beat 14-0 then play better, or go home and cry...

Finland won the tourney because they were the best team. They also scored 1 fewer goal than Canada in 2 more games. My personal opinion is that if you are the best team you will win, whether you put up 4 or 14 against the weakest team.

I only objectively hate JB when he does something stupid. I guess I can't really hate him for disagreeing with how he envisions a rebuild, but if he makes the same mistake he did with LE, but with a 35 year old Pavelski, I would probably hate him more than I did when he signed LE.

McDavid took a discount at 12.5. I could easily see Matthews pushing for the same/more if he isn't interested in taking that same discount.

Star players are going after their money now instead of leaving it on the table for teams to turn a 4 million dollar player into a 6 million one.

If EP holds to his current level and his production grows similar to other young centers as his ELC expires he'll have an easy argument for 11-12 million if not more.

Eichel signed for 10m which gave him 13.3% of the cap coming off a 23-34-57 for .93 PPG season. When pen went to paper he had 113points in 142 games for a .8 PPG.

If we are looking at an 87 million dollar cap you're looking at like... 12.2 ish and Petey's gonna have a way stronger case, if he holds his production and grows, than Eichel did to get even more.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Petey's a 14 million dollar player out of his ELC.

Puck recovery is a huge part of maintaining and controlling possession and dictating play in all game states. So if you're able to shoot more its likely because you're doing things to recover the puck after "giving up possession".
