The top team is playing at around 72% then the next few 65% and the majority around45- 55% .Then you have a few 40% and under.
There are not major gaps between being bad mediocre and being good. Calgary and Vegas have won 6 more games than us. - VANTEL
Not a large gap and either could potentially have a dumpster fire losing streak like we did as well.
Flower or Gio get injured all bets are off. |

I like the progress this year. The last road trip was 3 and 3 .
We win two games plan the parade. We lose two games fire Benning. |

EP goes down and we're 1 game under 500 and everyone is back to the emotional state of the last 3 years |

So they are further from being competitive because the young players are leading the team? - manvanfan
No. They are further than being competitive because they lack the skill and talent that top teams have, age aside. The fact that they are younger isnt bad, its good considering the direction this team needed to go in as far as a rebuild. I think the team is going in the right direction, but i think we need a bunch of pieces to be close to where those top teams are at.
Just my opinion though |

Do you think at the start of next year Biega Nilsson MDZ Pouliot Schaller Goldobin Granlund Motte Leipsic Sutter will all be on the Canucks? I think half of them will be replaced so how do you know how long it will take?
We knew this year was lets go one more year with a high draft pick but they exceeded expectations

Once our Goaltending solidifies with Demko getting established and Hughes becomes an NHL regular I think things will look a lot different. Not saying we will be competing for a cup at that point, but I think the light at the end of the tunnel will be a lot closer |

I hoped more than half are replaced tbh lol.
And you are bang on. We all knew the Canucks would be bad this year, they have exceeded expectations at times, sporadically, but are still the team we all thought they were. And I agree, another high draft pick is the best way to go |

the prospect of having Hughes replace any of our bottom 4 D, and the idea of Demko being a backup is definitely exciting. |

On a side note, it's a little ironic that as our future in net is coming into focus with Demko and DiPietro, Markstrom finally finds his game(if only for a month so far) at the NHL level |

I think the team started the year thinking one more high draft pick but I honestly am not sure how they feel now. Like I said before I don't have high expectations of this years draft.
The fact that Canucks were discussing about bringing in Hughes now shows they don't like the current situation with the LHD or they want to push for the playoffs. |

Only lefties that are safe are Edler and maybe Hutton so you're probably right. |

Just in time for some stat based rankings for the upcoming draft. I personally hate Jeremy Davis. His rankings aren't horrible but it's more or less how he takes how he looks at his own numbers.
Like the fact that Cozen's was behind Dach in points until Lethbridge went out and got a few of the top scoring junior players for him to play with and his point totals have SKY rocketed. Where as Dach is still leading his junior team and isn't far behind considering he has 1 point in 10 games stretch. |

Im happy to know no matter how many games hughes plays after his Michigan season, he cant burn a year of his expansion eligibility. I think its inevitable that he plays this year, but youre right, its interesting to hear the Canucks contemplating about asking him to leave ncaa early and help. |
