So they can probably make EK an offer. He'll be 29 when his new contract kicks in - ?X8 years...those are the scary kind of contracts.

I am sure he will sign something with SJ before the season is over. IF he doesnt, I don't want anything to do with him from a Canucks perspective. Like you said, the $ + term that he will demand and receive is not something the Canucks should entertain.

Not opposed to the term, but giving a 35 year old free agent 7 million aav just seems so counter-productive towards becoming a younger/faster team. Not to mention, Pavelski's numbers, albeit impressive, are surely inflated due to playing on a pretty stacked team and pretty good PP.
