They play in Toronto Wednesday.

Playing Wed, flying to Van that evening and then playing Thurs seems like a bit much no?

I think this is his final call up.
- VANTEL

I'd be cool with that as long as they actually put the kid in a spot to succeed.

If he's out there playing half the ice of his wingers because Green doesn't trust him with a regular shift and Brown won't put him on the PP then I don't see the point in this unless there's a rift opening between Utica and the team.

Quite a few people with nothing better in their lives but to talk about a random on the internet.

I'll take it as a compliment they think about me all the time.

I totally get most of it being in jest but then there's some people who make me wonder how they treat those in their actual lives

Sticking him on a first class red eye is probably a better bed than anything he's had on the road in the AHL this year.

Considering they expect EP back before the Edmonton game, I'm honestly a little surprised they're yoyo-ing Gaudette again unless other moves are incoming.

Part of me fully expects them to keep his TOI at 9 minutes with 0 on the PP.

Dude's a terrific triggerman on the PP in the AHL and through college. For all of Brock's traits, being the modern PP triggerman isn't one of them. What's it going to (frank)ing hurt to have Gaudette in the hammer spot on PP with with Brock in the bumper or replacing (frank)ing Granlund on PP2?

Having Granlund fired into the sun and off this roster is a hill I'm willing to die on.

given the horrible pp arrangement last game i dont expect them to utlize gaudette properly any time soon. last game there was zero guys on their off wing ready to shoot. whoever put righthanded boeser on the right wing wall and lefthanded bae on the leftwing wall needs to be shot into the sun

I honestly wonder what Newell Brown even does.

He didn't even come up with the Horvat-Boeser-Twins-Edler unit last year. That was TG like 30 minutes before game time in LA and it turns out putting your 5 best players together made sense.

Last year I remember he had Boeser on the right wing a lot with Burmistrov or Baertschi, both lefties, on the left wing.

Virtanen has maybe like 3 garbage goals in his career. In junior he scored goals like Boeser or EP by rifling his shot passed goalies. For whatever reason NB has him net front whenever he gives him PP time as if being 6'1" means he's Tomas Holmstrom.

When Pouliot was on the PP1 I saw a stat that he had 1 assist that entire like 12 game stretch he was out there getting 90 seconds of every PP. Everybody could see it was failing but they kept trotting him out there.

the handed thing drives me nuts to watch, it slows the pp down too much to take advantage of the extra man. pettersson is going to keep him employed for a while though

Who's the PP coach in Utica. He's a generational coach putting Gaunce as net front.

Same, it's infuriating to see a perfect pass reach a player who can do next to nothing with it

He used to really look like an all around utility player, and that's clearly how the team still thinks of him, but to me he's really lost his scoring touch. Should only be used for his penalty killing and defensive minutes imo

I don't trust small guys who aren't that big as checking forwards, especially against good teams that have speed/size.

He should be a 13th forward or AHL call-up at best. People keep clinging onto his season 2 years ago. If we're clinging onto career seasons from scrubs then bring back Santorelli, Stanton, Matthias, etc.

Him or Jason King. Doesn't really say defined roles just asst coaches.

Agnew was an asst coach with the Penguins when they won the cup in 15-16.

I was definitely pro-Granlund coming into this year. Now Motte does more in the same defensive role than he does though and his offense has totally dried up so I'm in the same boat, make him the 13th guy who fills in when there's injuries.
