I'm okay with trades but I'm also okay with trades that can potentially make us better for now and the next few years. Guys like muzzin and Coyle can still fit timelines. Stone duchene panarin all would be great additions. I'm not in sell off for pick mode unless it's a player we wont be resigning like simmer. I want to make this team better for next year if we move people. Even if we get a top 5 pick.

Voracek has zero upper body strength, plays timid... a fricking midget player could get the puck away from him. Between he and Simmonds non existent coasting back checking and their bonehead plays and the cowardly lion JVR playing similarly they are useless. So thats about 20 million dollars worth of heartless, cement head garbage play taking up critical roster spots...I remember Carolina sending the Latvian Goalie Arturs Irbe down to Johnstown in the ECHL and frankly these guys need to be forced to ride buses and remember their obligation to prepare and work at the job..Weise..meh...Yeah Hextall was like Smiegel holding on the ring in the Hobbit and falling into the burning lava smiling while he held all his assets and control tightly, with a touch of Nero and Caligula thrown in...This franchise does need an enema... and a class action suit by STH and Comcast subscribers...

These guys have gotten to used to losing and without consequences to them personally I don't see anything happening this year to fix this roster. Giroux's after game q&a spoke volumes. He looked at the floor for most of the time didn't really say much and did not take ownership of the team sucking so bad.
It's not all on him granted but he's the captain and the teams best player.
As a comparison Hart being only 20 faced the cameras and spoke bluntly.
I was thinking last night watching Giroux that Pronger would come right and out and say the team sucked right now and that the effort needs to be better. He would look straight at the cameras and questioner and dare them to challenge what he said.

Gordon basically said the effort wasn't there without saying it directly.

Guys need to be scratched for a game or two if the are dogging it. If that means playing a forward short for a game then so be it.

Bunch of snowflakes on this team so fragile that a little bit of adversity causes them to crumble.

There's a lot of things that Voracek can be criticized for. This isn't one of them.

Bored at work yesterday, I was watching “NHL Interviews gone wrong” on YouTube and like half of them were Pronger just chirping the media lol. Miss that.

Basically venting the same frustrations 99% of us are. Players need to step up. Front office needs to do something.

😂 I remember when Clement picked out people in the crowd and made fun of them during commercials.

The now annual "10 Game Losing Streak" is coming a little later this year than before but here it is.

At this point the most interesting part of the Flyers is how the GM, hired to 'move the team forward faster', will address this mess.

“Wayne Simmonds on the boo-happy #Flyers fans: “I think the guys that have been on the team here should know. You don’t show up....You don’t give it your best effort, you’re going to get booed in Philadelphia. Everyone knows that.”

#loseforhughes. seriously tho is this considered a 2 prospect race? never expected to be thinking draft in jan . last year the finals spot had 97 points. the Flyers would need 61 points in the last 40 games to hit that. obviously not happening. at least this defines us as clear sellers.

I don't understand why everyone is upset about this game. Poor Blues goalie was making his FIRST NHL START and they only had 10 FORWARDS for most of the game...!!!!

LOUD NOISES!!!!!!

I'm beyond words. Total loss.

They may be able to get out in front of the trade deadline here a bit which is good news. Opens it to a larger pool of teams

Kaako could be really good, a scorer with a responsible game, but no one taking him over Hughes. Hughes has too many weaknesses to be a generational player, but his skating is too elite to pass up.

But But But
The future is so bright, the farm is bursting with young talent, next year boy, next year boy, did you see this kid, and that kid?
We had the evil genius GM who built a future juggernaut!

Bull$hit!!
Complete bull$hit!!

I don't want to hear another word about Hughes', or Frost, or whomever.

They've managed to make rock bottom an eventual improvement goal.

Tell it to the empty building

I don't see at this point why they don't make some moves with Lehigh, if they are not comfortable in the trade market right now. I would think it might help Patrick and Lindblom to get some confidence away from this poop show and spend some time in the A.. Both guys look lost. I would also jettison Weise. I would cut ties with Lehtera. Pay him but just send him home. As soon as Nuevy is healthy....throw him on waivers.... maybe another team says what the hell? he is on a cheap expiring contract. Fletcher inherited a complete mess of an NHL franchise, It's not his fault, but it is now on his lap to fix. It really should have started a while back.

Reality is that in a sense they're trying to hard. Playing outside of the team structure with too much individual play. Last night, two struggling teams played. One played as a team and with structure, one did not.

I gave this example last night. On one play in the defensive zone, the puck was in the corner and Sanheim was sandwiched between two Blues forecheckers. He made a great play to spin out of that and had no where to go with the puck. No available outlets. All he could do was send it up the boards to a waiting Blue player at the point.

It's really sad that, as a Flyers fan, all I have to look forward to is draft day, trade deadline day, and coach/gm firings.

But, hey, at least they offered us fans Gritty to make us look the other way.

EDIT: And another thing! Stop offering these players big contracts AND no movement/no trade clauses. What kind of fire in their belly is left if there are no real chances of being shipped out for lazy play?

Also, I hate the salary cap.

This is where I am at right now also. Use Gudas, Simmer, Weal, Raffl, and Frolin to get as many picks as possible. Then make a "hockey trade" with Voracek. I dont know if that means Stone, Duchene, Panarin, or Tarasenko.

This team is Manning and Filppula away from a "playoff team". Obviously we had guys that had career years that are having down years and goaltending is an issue. But the whole thing does not need blown up. Just change Simmonds and Voracek and enough of the "core" is turned over to start fresh.

I would also really consider moving Giroux back to center, and have Couturier center a defensive minded line that matches up against the opponents top lines. I realize what he did last year, but I think his best style of game is to be "the defensive guy". Besides JVR needs someone like Giroux to get him the puck in scoring position.

Here is where I would do line combos, but with Raffl, Weal, and Simmer possibly gone this is what I would have the centers look like:

Giroux
Patrick
Couturier
Laughton

Last night I was more entertained by the mites on ice game. One little guy scored two nice goals and another one shot one top shelf that popped the bottle off the net.

I doubt those teams would trade those players for Voracek.

I agree that they shouldn't overreact to this season.

Couturier's best style of game was being a 70 point Selke finalist center.

Did the second kid effectively back check? If so, I think the Flyers could have an in-house solution for 3C.

I think Kaako Kuppari beyond being fun to say, has the best chance to be a steady player that can be relied on to score. Hughes IMO is either going to be an exceptional or a bust. I need one of them to make this season be ok.
