So because Lindblom can play on the 4th line he is better then Aube-Kubel?
Has Lindblom really showed you that much? I like his game and think he is a solid player but i am not rady to state Lindblom is a better player then Aube-Kubel without seeing Aube-Kubel for more then a couple games in limited minutes. - J35Bacher
In my view Lindblom played better in the same situations that Aube-Kubel played in. If Aube-Kubel played equally, good chance he would still be with the team. I think Lindblom is going to be a solid top 9 forward for the Flyers moving forward.

Nope Simmonds is poop. He is better that he is playing sure but he isnt that skilled of a player. He is like JVR in the sense that he is only good if you put him in a favourable position. He has been overvalued here for the longest time. Fact is no matter what team he is with, without pp time he is not a useful player at all. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Wait till you see what Simmonds does when playing with McDavid. I think Simmonds can still be a big point producer in the NHL for a few more years, my issue is you need a center that can both create scoring opportunities for him to cash in on, and be responsible enough defensively to make up for his miscues, and be fast enough to make up for his slow skating. Players the Flyers dont have ATM, and I dont want to pay for the years of non-production 4 years from now. |

I am not and have not been debating if the opportunity given to each player has been the same. In fact I mentioned the difference in sample size in my original post. - MJL
Then instead of saying Lindblom is the better player, maybe say Lindblom is the better player on the 4th line with limited minutes... |

If you asked Pavel Bure to outplay Blair Betts on the 4th line in 5 minutes per game in defensive situations.......
apples and oranges. |

I can picture the posts now. When and if Simmonds is traded and plays in the right situation, posts will say where was that Simmonds when he was here? The answer is that he was here all along. - MJL
so staus quo? fact is, what is here isn't working. the core hasn't been working. I wouldn't doubt in a better situation where he doesn't have to be a top guy he may look better. I just don't want to see them sign him for 5-6 years. i think that is a mistake with already having the long term contracts they have. and believe me, seeing him in another jersey will be sad for me. |

Nope, I don't object to the idea of trading Simmonds. There is merit to that. I object to the idea that Simmonds is no longer a good player.

Not me, not one single time because I actually remember the exact reason why he was traded. He wasn't traded because he was given up on, he was traded because there was no spot for him with the forwards they currently had at the time. The fact they got a bigger center in Ellison was strictly for depth and there were times he struggled in the lineup. There is no guarantee he would of had the same career if he stayed with the Flyers. - Glak18
if I recall correctly wasn't the talk that Hitch didn't like him? as far as the roster, the LWs on that team were R.J. Umberger, Brian Savage, Jonathan Sim, Petr Nedved, Donald Brashear and Ben Eager. I don't, I would have been fine with a young player 23 year old player who had 5 goals in 22 games a shot in front of most of that. |

Overall, on the 4th line, defensively, offensively... can you clarify your statement in a way that you can't argue your way out of it? |

First spin of the wheel and I had the Coyotes, Kings, and Devils moving into the top 3 and the Flyers down to 5. Yup, that sounds about right on par. |

Not vague at all. The way you formed your question was disingenuous. You're not going to get a conversation out of me that way. I'm certainly not concerned about matching hockey wits.

Simmer will get 22-26 goals this year, he will play better next year and the year after. His injuries have had a bigger impact on him than we know.
It is the right call to trade him. |

In retrospect when you look at the LWs they had and assume because he ended up playing the left side in Chicago it would of been a great fit. Unfortunately he was a center on the Flyers. Maybe they could of tried him as RW then too, but they never did. |

The Sharp trade, Ellison just wasn't given a shot
The Lindros trade, except that we included Chris Simon
The Lindros trade, we got can't-miss prospect Brendl
The Eminger....no, I can't.
And several shot attempt differential games this calendar year |

I’d be fine with Kakko at 2, but if we don’t get one of the top 2 picks I’d at least explore a trade for some immediate help. No one else besides Hughes and Kakko really wow me. I like a lot of them, but the top 2 are the only ones that wow me. |
