What is Laberge up to? I was miffed when we took him over DeBrincat and I've gotta say DeBrincat is looking pretty dang good for the Hawks. 35 points already. Definitely proved a number of you guys wrong.

Translated: Don't tell me that he doesn’t handle the puck as well as he once did, he’s turning over pucks at a higher rate, his skating is slower that it was t begin with, he plays with less physicality, he loses board/puck battles he used to win, and that his work ethic has taken a down turn...list something that he doesn't do as well as he used to.

You’re great at putting words in everyone’s mouth. You really are.

What I’ve said needs no translation. Get him better linemates before writing him off, smart guy.

If the Flyers drafted DeBrincat he'd be in the AHL on the third line to make sure he played the game the right way and developed enough snot and balls before EARNING an NHL role.

There is a whole team of NHL players floundering down on the Phantoms. The Flyers simply don't want to be a good team with good players.

So Bob Mc was on NHL Network and said Fletcher is just fielding calls on Simmonds right now and could still decide to keep him
- dragonoffrost

I wouldnt expect Fletcher to show his hand until closer to the deadline. Drum up interest and then start the bidding war.

Sounds like more teams are selling than buying. Hopefully that changes as it gets closer to the TDL

A player like JVR can score 37 goals on a good team. The issue is he won't score at that level on a bad team and he stands out like a sore thumb because there isn't much more to his game.
- MJL

JvR only has 56 less points than Simmonds in like 170 less games played. He's played on bad teams and still put up numbers. He's a comparable player to Simmonds and younger. Both are having horrid seasons and standing out.

2014-2015 Leafs: 27g 29a --- 27/30 standings

Nah, what’s the point? Neither is worth re-signing for what their next deal will cost.

C'mon, there was nothing in that post about Simmonds. 30 and 27 is not the same as 37. They're comparable in offensive output but Simmonds is and has been the better player in my opinion. You keep coming at me but you don't have your ducks in a row.

Anaheim Colorado edmonton all have 2 or fewer wins in their last 10. Wild 4 in their last 10. These are teams that expected playoffs. I wonder if a deal can be made in either of these situations. Ideal world since they are all western conference.
