Both Patrick and Lindblom have goalless streaks that exceed 20 games.
These are guys that were pencilled into the top 9 at the start of the year. - johndewar
Once again, secondary scoring plaguing this team for the 8th year in a row and counting. |

It's not at all ridiculous for Simmonds to be seeking a deal with term. - MJL
No, it's not ridiculous for him to be seeking that. It is however ridiculous for this team to even consider it at this point. |

It was in reference to does he want the puck? Yes, he does. Where did I say wanting the puck was enough? The kid clearly has to play better. - ClaudeFather
Wanting the puck is getting to those spots and doing what it takes to get open and giving yourself a chance at getting the puck. Not just wishing it or tapping your stick on the ice. It's the same thing as the team wanting to play well or wanting to back check.

Patience is still being preached I guess....either we are going to stay in the Hughes sweepstakes with statusquo or they need to entice another team to be a trade partner.
This is painful to cheer for, at least the eagles are still hanging in there |

Lindblom was relegated to the 4th line for a lot of games. He has made some plays lately including last night. Both have to be better but right now I see Lindblom as the better player.

I'd rather have Simmonds on a deal like that than JvR. - MJL

I still think he is going to be a good player. He is just totally lost right now. He's not the only one. The entire team is lost.

Love the player Simmer is...but I don't think there's a fit here. Not for the term and $ he's looking for. The Flyers also have cheaper youth coming. Hopefully they can get a decent trade made. - landros 2
There is if they move JVR |

The time for a big move to save the season has come and passed. At this point, their focus should be towards the future.
Optimistically, I see this year as an anomaly. Simmonds and Voracek aside, we all know that several key players (Ghost, Provorov, Elliott, even Konecny) are all having sub-par years, Patrick has been MIA in a terrible way, and really only Giroux and to a lesser extent Couturier are having typical seasons. If they can collect themselves this offseason, address the bottom-6, goaltending, and bottom-4 defense, they can turn this around in one offseason.
Pessimistically...I don't want to go there. |

So you think having 7 players with 20+ goals is a lack of secondary scoring? |

Also an option. My fear is that they'll keep one and it will be JVR. |

Well, seeing as he's locked up long-term with a fairly high cap hit relative to his production so far...yeah, he's likely not going anywhere. |

lol i was exaggerating with the 8 years and counting, what was that 4 years ago? Secondary scoring has been a serious issue for the past few years. |

I agree. But they can get away with a lack of secondary scoring if their PP, PK, and goaltending can support them.
This year, basically everything has been an issue. |

100% the saving point has been missed, only thing different from when hextall was here is hart picked up some starts. Seems like more of the same. Just frustrated like every other flyers fan. I get fletcher needs time to evaluate and time to find a willing trading partner.
I just think he needs to commit to something - I think Simmonds trade value should help to land a nylander or stone type player. |
