Yes, Chicago had a better blue line than we have today. If Provy and Ghost bounce back to their norms, Morin can stay healthy, and Myers can play a top-4 role, I think our will be an equivalent. - jmatchett383
I don’t think you understand. The Hawks blue line was so good, they could win without Spectacular goaltending. |

I’ll say it again, I don’t think we should overreact to reports. - SuperSchennBros
What reports? I'm talking about what I see on a game-by-game basis when I watch him.
Look, I love Simmonds, he's one of my favorites. But his game has just left him and he doesn't do all of the things that I loved about him anymore. |

Simmonds is no longer needed. When you're near the bottom of the league it's time to sell off UFAs with value, and promote your top AHL prospects to see what you have. This is true for every team in the league. |

And I think the Flyers can (again, CAN, not will) get there too, if Ghost and Provorov can re-find their games and Myers and Morin can both become top-6 regulars. |

Simmonds could be seeking 3 years and I'd still pass. It's time to rebuild this mess. |

To be fair, with the roster we have and holes we have, a good portion of the offense needs to be aided by defenseman shots. - NC Flyers Fan
Exactly that has been a major issue where there are not enough quality, keyword quality, shots getting through from the points, but on the flip side other teams know this as well. So other teams clog those opportunities because the Flyers don't have enough players who can score outside of the junk area. |

Anyone more stat savvy than me...I would love to compare number of defensemen shot attempts in games won vs lost.

There is little reason to keep Voracek. The game he plays is not something I want the kids to imitate. - ggunky
The reason to keep Voracek is that he can score and is one of the better playmaker in the league |

Why can’t the same be said about JVR who suffered a knee injury this year? Yes he didn’t require surgery but you never know. |

Flyers Twitter account getting roasted after tweeting about a beer Night Out Package!
lol
I feel for the poor intern running that account today. - Scoob
Not an intern. Flyers hired a social media manager (Brian Brand, former NJ Devils social media guy) before the season. The ad is a marketing department function, and part of the Flyers brand as a whole. Hockey ops is just one side of the brand. Everyone has a job to do, and obligations to meet. Not marketing department or PR's fault or Community development or Flyers Charities fault if team isn't winning on the ice, and kind of unfair and dense of those who take out frustrations from what's going on in the hockey side to not realize that these functions still go on with their purpose.

I think people are still a bit ticked off about the whole AED donation if they score in OT thing. |

He has enough excuses already.
What about Raffl or Weise? If they had an all-star playmaking center that did all the work and fed them pucks for empty net goals they would score more.

This were I'm at with Simmonds. If he was lighting it up and this team was contending, then maybe you do a 5-6 year deal knowing he will probably not be very good in year 4 and beyond ala Scott Hartnell....But the Flyers are not that team.

There was some promotion where, if the Flyers scored in OT against Clagary, they would an AED to a local children's hospital.
So, because they failed to score, that hospital did not get its AED. |

I updated my list of forward prospects to order them by birth year, and I came up with 16 guys, ten of which are already signed. |

Even though he’s had a rough season, I don’t think it’s time to give up on him like most guys have already. Idk if you’re being serious or sarcastic (hard to tell online) but his lack of center is a fair explanation imo. His centers have been Patrick and Weal. Patrick has just been struggling whereas Weal isn’t good. A lot of us expected a 2nd line of JVR-Patrick-Jake and it lacked chemistry in preseason. I know both JVR and Jake have sucked defensively, but maybe this line should be revisited. It doesn’t help JVR that our PP has been hot garbage, even though he excelled in Toronto at scoring ES. But I do wonder if his leg/knee is still somewhat bothering him or hurting his skating. |
