I never thought I’d say This, and I know some of you guys don’t believe “get the band back together” if Marc Bergevin is putting Andrew Shaw in play , I hope Stan makes at least a phone call to find out what he is looking for in return . I did not realize it the kid is only 27 years old. There is one I would like to make which is sorely missed on this team right now.
I understand he has an injury history. - wonthecup10
And bad penalty taking history. On a team with a better D and strong PK, you take that chance. We're not that team anymore. |

I would be surprised if they traded for him now. Maybe he comes back to finish his career. Montreal would have to retain salary if it happened. The Hawks are going to have to renew Delia this summer, and he's getting paid. Dahlstrom should get a bump, also. The season after that, they have to renew Debrincat and Strome. Shaw has three seasons after this one at a cap hit of $3.9 mill per. If there's money to be spent, I think it could be better spent than here, also, much as I appreciated what he brought to the two Cup teams he was on.

It's been out their that Toronto is going to have cap issues next year and in their ability to make a run they said they want a player with term and guys who would likely be traded are kap and kadri. So I'm just saying if Keith who's name has been mentioned a lot should he go to Toronto I could see those 2 guys as a possible return. - Taylorst1
None of what you posted has been reported. Keith isn't going to get that kind of return anymore he's terrible old and has 4 years left on his deal. And by the way it's Debrincat not Denbrincant |

Colliton on Forsling's injury: "His return isn't imminent, but I don't think it's going to be super long-term."
Does anyone know what happened to Forsling? I didn't see any major collisions in the Calgary game. concussion? - Chunk
Seems to me, that every time we start getting excited about what Forsling can, and will do, he gets hurt. How much time has he missed, over the last few years? Could it be that he's to frail for the NHL? |

Those are some important things to a players game that are great.
But anisomov is 31 years old , not producing any real consistent results ,very slow and injury prone.
If Chicago can't find someone younger , cheaper , more skill and speed to compliment this team and improve its overall game I find that hard to believe.
Kampf is probably a better answer to anisomov. Speed , skill , solid defense, bite to his game and his cap hit is 3.5 million cheaper. Just saying . - Taylorst1
Anisimov isn't that injury prone and he isn't slow for his size. He also is a consistent 40pt player and is solidly defensively. Solid PK guy. Can play center or wing. His contract is up in a year at a reasonable cap hit.
Do you watch hockey at all? Anisimov is a solid established NHL player. A good 3rd line player on a cup contending team. He has trade value.
Your constant bashing of Anisimov makes zero sense. |

I threw this out there a few days ago. I'd really like to see Shaw back on this team as a 3rd or 4th line player. If Montreal is willing to eat a little bit of salary, depending on the return, it would only interest me even more. Especially if AA gets moved out at some point. I get Shaw's injury history and it is a bit of a risk, but he's exactly what this team could use right now in our bottom six to add more depth and grit to the team. Sometimes guys go through a bit of bad luck getting hurt for a bit, but then get past it. Sometimes it riddles them for the rest of their career. He's having a hell of a year when he's been healthy. Idk I feel this would be a very good move for the Hawks if they can either give up minimal in return OR can get him with Montreal eating 1M or so and the return nothing of substance |

Agree, I would think either at the TDL or this summer he could at least net a 3rd RD pick maybe a 2nd depending on the team. AA is the type of guy a lot of Playoff teams are looking to add to their roster to round it out. He's been very good for us since coming here and played his role as a 2/3 Center very well, but we're looking to get younger and spread some of our money around a little better so he's a prime guy to be traded.

You're just flat wrong. Keith has value. Look at his cap hit compared to other Dmen with the same hit.
He still is a better skater than 95% of Dmen in the league. If you don't think Keith can slide in as a #2/3 d-men on a serious contender you are wrong.
Is he going to get you multiple picks and high end prospects? No. Can he bring back a first and mid level prospect? Definitely. |

These guys will be RFAs. There raises will be modest at best.

Not sure about Shaw. He hasn't been good for Montreal. I love what he brings but not for more than 1.5-2mil per year. |

If Keith is moved and I have a strong feeling he might Toronto did say they want someone with term and 2 players they would move would be kap and Kardizi.
That is a possibility both come. - Taylorst1
I can't see the Hawks getting both. MAYBE one. If Toronto was smart they'd move Nylander or Kap for a Top 4 D-Man and then in the offseason shop Kadri to a team looking for a 2nd line Center for a young controllable D-Man with Top 4 potential. They have tons of forward depth up front, but the backend looks to be weak going forward especially if Gardiner (say what you will he's still a good D-Man) leaves in FA.
If they did want to get both, I would maybe trade Keith with Forsling for Kap and Kadri or something like that to entice them more, but I just can't see them basically trading their 3rd line for Keith and losing that depth. If anything, I'd go for Kap in FA and throw an Offer sheet at him in the range where it would cost a 2nd Rd pick.

I like Shaw as a 3C and only 3C. Big difference between he and AA. AA doesn't have that winner/killer mentality that Shaw does. Shaw brings energy which is big for JC and a 3rd line of Shaw/Caggiula/Kahun could be pretty pesky to play against. With that being said, I doubt they bring him back after the overly-publicized gay slur incident during a game. - Assman22
There are lots of god young hockey players out there - why do we keep trying to recreate the past? |

Not paid paid, obviously, but he's getting good bump from $767K. Consider the amount of leverage he will have, with no other legit prospects to speak of, and Crawford's situation. Unless he poops the bed through the rest of the season, he's going to get considerably more than he is now. What do you think his next contract is like, if he continues to play like a legit starter? |

He's been good for them (my girlfriend is a huge fan of his so we keep tabs on him there) but his problem has been playing healthy. He was on pace to set career marks in goals and points this year til he got hurt again. If they were willing to eat 900k to 1.4M on his deal so he'd be making around 2.5-3M (like I said he should have gotten to stay with the team) that would be worth it IMO. With the player salaries going up and the salary cap going up as well 2-3M is about what I would expect out of a 3rd or 4th line player who's been in the league for awhile and is proven. Look at Ryan Reaves in Vegas making almost 3M to basically play the same kinda role. And before someone mentions Kruger, that deal was given because of the pay cuts he took the years prior to help the team out and was worth it for what he provided on a nightly basis as a 4C and top PK guy. Unfortunately the injuries slowed him down and as the league got more skilled players "speciality guys" like himself became less valuable. Shaw can do a little bit of everything which, if he can stay healthy, would make him a very valuable 3rd or 4th line depth player IMO

I'd expect that he'll get at least a two year deal at 1M per if he plays decently the rest of the season. He could get a bit more than that if he continues to develop his game and plays better

Taylors Hockey knowledge seems to mostly come from his NHL18 game on his x-box. Most of his ridiculous trade proposals and player evaluations tend to be based along video game lines, not actual Hockey knowledge.

Realistically speaking, he has Zero leverage. He is an RFA with a handful of NHL games under his belt and not even a full season in the AHL. If he plays well for the rest of the season, I would expect his next contract will probably be a 2-3 year deal at around $1.25-1.5 mil. |

Shaw has been just fine in Montreal. Injury prone, but this season especially he has been up and down the lineup providing versatility, grit and production. He's having the best season of his career right now. |

Not advocating for his return, but the Hawks NEVER replaced the emotional energy Shaw brought. Tim Soderlund appears to a Shaw type player, but not sure how far away he is from being NHL ready. |

More like $4-5 mil per max. If Wennberg got $4.9 per (such a steal for CBJ) as an elite young center, I can't see Kap getting much more than $4 mil per tbh - Assman22
Thanks for the update. 4 million seems like a doable bargain. It would if Chicago acquired him help Chicago out getting pieces that they need . |

Sportsnet Canada's latest take on 2019 draft prospects. Hughes, Kakko, Podkolzin still 1,2,3. The top 11 prospects are forwards.

I think a lot of people on here don't realize how good AA is. The intangibles he brings don't show up on the stat sheets. I know he is slow and doesn't score too often but the buck stops there. Great defender, uses his body well, will hit the dirty areas, post up near the crease, high hockey IQ, an the list goes on. I think he'll fetch a decent return many aren't expecting. - Assman22
I hope you're right but sorry I don't agree.
I can't see anything more than a middle round pick or a low level prospect. Anyway, it's the cap savings that's the important thing.
Same with Kruger and even less in return....IF anything at all. Terrible use of the cap for this year.
It's all about the future now....getting younger and faster. Movement of any kind on the vets is a plus for $$$$$.
The only players that should bring a decent return are Keith and Saad.
I'd be in favor of both.
