Well thats the thing a 3rd liner on a great team and a 3rd liner on a sheet team are two different things
Remember Roy and Vanek were once 4th liners for us
If the top 6 is great then sure he can be a 3rd liner. - hubie
max roy vanek was the third line.. not the 4th. we still had mair, goose, pallie, peters, michael ryan etc on the 4th .. |

I think he meant that his production is good for someone that has been playing 3rd line minutes not that he is going to be a 3rd liner.. |

Let’s just say we are set next year in the Top6 with something like:
Sheary-Jack-Tage
Skinner-Mitts-Sam
And the 4th line with a combo of:
Larsson, Girgs, Sobotka, E Rod
Wtf do we do with line3?
Especially if we can’t get rid of Okposo
And even moreso if Sobotka is on the line too
Nylander, Smith & Olofsson are all wingers
And none of them make a line that’s 2/3 of Sobotka & Okposo productive - jdfitz77
can pretty much guarantee that will not be the top 6 next year... botts will make at least one move for the top six in F/a or Via a trade. |

New Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury called Josh Rosen "an extremely talented thrower."
A video from last October recently emerged of Kingsbury saying he would take Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray "with the first pick of the draft if I could," an interesting coincidence given his new team's position at the top of the draft. Arizona just used the 10th-overall pick on Rosen, however, and Kingsbury is at least publicly behind the soon-to-be sophomore. That said, this comment will do nothing to stifle trade rumors over the next couple months.

Sergei Bobrovsky won't participate in Thursday's game and the explanation given is sure to fuel speculation.
"There are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture," said Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "An incident occurred in which Sergei failed to meet those expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight's game. This is an internal matter and we will have no further comment at this time." It certainly sounds like the Blue Jackets issued Bobrovsky a team suspension, even if they avoided that terminology. Bobrovsky has been a key figure for the Blue Jackets for years now and has won the Vezina Trophy twice with the franchise. At the same time, he can leave this summer as an unrestricted free agent. It's hard to say anything further without knowing what incident triggered the Blue Jackets' recent decision.
Jackets trying to make themselves look good if they lose him ? |

Lol, except it doesn’t take thousands of times.
And again, this is such a dumb argument. So should the Sabres build there team around players who will prevent “own goals” or have magic powers to prevent deflections?
Or should they build their team around guys who can create shots and chances?
This isn’t an actual question by the way - sbroads24
Your right, it is a dumb argument, because it creates a false choice. Nobody is saying pick the magic powers of preventing own goals or preventing deflections. And nobody is saying the only other alternative is shooters and "chancers."
IT'S SCORERS.
Build the team around guys who put the puck in the net or guys who keep the other side from putting the puck in the net.

If Mitts finishes with 13-15 goals with his most common linemate being the walking corpse of Kyle Okposo, it's a success - jcragcrumple
100%.... he was never going to get 50-60 points like some on here suggested before the season started... Jack was just able to do that his first year, as much as I think Mitts can be a good player he is not Jack. |

nor would I.... if they want him they are going to have to pay a lot, teams like MTL NEED a center desperately. so It wouldn't surprise me to see them try to get him before the deadline....

Right. So how do you put the puck in the net? Who does that consistently?
Can you find me an example of someone who consistently puts the puck in the net who also doesn’t get a good volume of shots and chances?
The point is Tage is doing the process quite well, and has had absolutely 0 fortunate bounces, which as you point out happen frequently.
Problem is if you aren’t creating and shooting you will not get those bounces regularly.
I don’t get the argument. In fact it isn’t even an argument |

#Sabres lines at practice:
Skinner-Eichel-Thompson
Sheary-Sobotka-Reinhart
Girgensons-Mittelstadt-Pominville
Rodrigues-Larsson-Okposo
Pilut-Ristolainen
Dahlin-Bogosian
Scandella-McCabe
Beaulieu-Hunwick
I’m assuming CJ got sent down, Elie is better suited to watch from upstairs. Game 44 and we are finally getting what I wanted to see game 1 in terms of the Skinner-Eichel-Thompson combo. |

The Jackets should have traded both when it became known that both didn't want to be there. Rid yourself of the distraction and get value for them. |
