It’s obvious he isn’t gonna produce much with Mitts (right now anyways) or Sobotka (ever)
Let’s see what the kid has got

I’d be ok moving Skinner down to play with Mitts too

Was thinking about the transition the Bills and Sabres are (have) made this season.

Pretty amazing actually, even though the Bills had a down year, they took steps that will help them for years by clearing up the Cap status. Through the season, they broken in several new players that will help them for years. A TON more to do, but they now have the means to start filling holes rather than creating them!

For the Sabres, very exciting times. While they have a roster that requires quite a bit if turnover, they have a good portion of the Core in place. Furthermore, that Core is young and extremly talented.
That leads me to my point, which is they have broken-in quite a bit of young players, with more to come! Remember everyone being so enamored with the Leafs breaking in their young players a couple tears ago....Mathews, Marner, Nylander...yadda yadda yadda.

- CJ, if he stays up.
How crazy will it be if Botts can trim some deadweight and create another opening for Guhle and Nylander in 6-7 weeks!

Craig Rivet always says on the Instigators that although Toronto is better right now, Buffalo has way more top end prospects. What happens when Nelson comes back? I don't understand the hatred for Elie, he has done exactly what he was brought in to do, play when needed and sit when not. He is a decent penalty killer, he's hard in the corners and he knows his place. Sounds like a good teammate to me. Wilson was waived to be sent to Rochester, GMJB wants him to play games, he hasn't all year. Nobody was going to claim him with his contract. Good veteran to have around if needed. I thought Thompson was the best player last night against NJ, let's hope he can continue to build on it. Beaulieu has been pretty good this year, he seems to have really turned his game around and he brings a toughness that this team is missing on some nights. Botts knows what he's doing as far as the salary cap goes, Pittsburgh won Stanley Cups because of his work with the cap, not in spite of it. Scandella would be the guy they might be able to move if they desire to keep Pilut up in Buffalo, He does have a reasonable contract. It's going to be a very interesting second half of the season. Beat the teams you're supposed to beat and play the teams better than you tough.
