I am more interested too see how long before Goldobin gets to play on Bo's line, before he gets stapled to his rightful place, at the end of the bench. - Reubenkincade
Apparently they're also going to use him in Petey's spot on the PP |

if they don't see a future with Goldobin in a Canucks jersey, then there really isn't a better place to put him than on that line to drive up his value though. there is a phrase that we sometimes say but I can't quite remember it |

Edit; I am also looking forward to the after game trade of Goldobin for Crouse. - Reubenkincade
At the end of the bench means he warrants a spot in the lineup... |

It is a showcase game for him, hopefully the stats GM in Arizona falls in love with him. |

I always wondered why people needed other accounts.
Boredom?
The need to feel something different in their lives?
They want people to dislike them without disliking them?
Having an alt account is something I will just never understand. |

Athletic is doing a series of early predictions for the 2020 World Cup tournament. Today's look was at team Sweden
All three writers had Pettersson centering either the first or second line
Oh and Markstrom was either the backup or 3rd string on each roster. Sweden's goaltending is not looking good long-term... |

Quick look and Swedish goaltending in the NHL over the past 10 years has been Lundqvist and with Markstrom the 2nd best Swedish goalie.
That's scary. |

Burke on Edler : He is playing awesome. The issue with Alex has been his injuries. It's a great dilemma for Jimmy (Benning). I would guess Alex needs to give the Canucks 72 hours before the deadline and he would get dealt somewhere. Maybe a 2nd and 3rd rounder or even a 1st. - manvanfan
The biggest "issue" i have with keeping Edler this year is that once Hughes is the one feeding pucks to EP and Boeser at 5v5/PP I don't think you'll see .5PPG Edler and all of a sudden everyone will be like "wow he sucks. totally fell off a cliff" and he won't have any trade value.
He's had a perfect pump and dump year.
Also, excluding the Jason Garrison's of the world, he's the 24th oldest defenceman in the league and a lot of those guys older than him are brutal but signed to long term deals.
If he leaves in UFA its fine I guess, but an extension for him could go south quickly. |

If their plan is to pump and dump Goldobin then they've already screwed it up with the healthy scratches, coaching busting him in the media, and media puppets ripping his ass on team owned radio. |

I’ve cjanged my tune...I want Edler back. If he is gone, the team will likely regress. We need constant improvement no matter how minimal it is each year. That and he won’t waive anyways |

i imagine teams do more homework when looking into acquiring a player than paying attention to a few healthy scratches, a few criticisms by the coach, and what the boring ass media has to say about him. He is only 23. Let him get a few apples while playing with some offensive players and drive it up as much as you can. On paper, his numbers aren't bad. And analytics wise, he isn't that bad at all. He would be of interest to some teams I imagine. |

The team is due to regress anyway due to turnover on the D. In 2 years Edler, Tanev and Gudbranson all aren't part of this team unless something has gone horribly wrong. Move on from them when they have some value/before they turn into negative on your roster.
They need space open on the left side. Hughes is coming in next year. The team is still high on Brisebois and OJ. If you keep Edler and Hutton then you don't have a spot for anyone to graduate.
Better off to get some of that transition pain out of the way before the forwards have all entered their prime rather than waiting until they're all in it. Waiting too long puts you in a position to trade your Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson. |

If he doesn't waive, whatever. But the team has to be willing to walk away in UFA and has to let him know that.
If he wants to be a Canuck its a 2 year deal. But a team like Pittsburgh or San Jose or Philly might walk up to the table with a 5 year deal. |
