EP out of the lineup and we see the need for more of everything. - hillbillydeluxe
We've already showed more promise as a team than I thought there would be at this point, I'm going to the game against Buffalo on the 18th and Toronto on the 6th cause the team is exciting again, I just hope EP is in the lineup for both! But yeah, there are a lot of holes particularly on the backend. |

I think EP is a generational talent (Something posters on here seem to not think quite yet), I think Bo is our best all around player and we have a very solid 60 point winger in Boeser. Were a bad team, but are starting to get the young pieces you need. Our goaltending and D is among the worst in the NHL. After Edler/Tanev, we have AHL and bottom pair guys. - neem55
Vancouver is about 20th in every category. So obviously there is about 10 teams that are suffering from the same problems as Van has. That's 1/3 of the league. A 1/3 of the league that has the same crap as Van has on their team. |

100%
That stat they showed before OT where they score like 3 goals/game with him and 1.56 without highlights that Bo/Boeser aren't enough depth. They need more top-end talent |

Sure. Carolina probably has bad goaltending too, that's been their acchiles heel for years. I think teams like Philly and Carolina are just not playing to their full potential. Also, it's a tough league That top20 you're talking about is tough to crack but despite what you think i bleed blue and green were just not there yet and I am able to look at this lineup and be honest about it: there are 5-6 players carrying this team and that's about it. |

EP is the only true creator of offence on the team. I don’t think coaches game plan against a Bo Horvat although he’s a ‘real good’ 200ft player. Boeser has a great shot but he’s not gonna dangle his way through a lineup. |

I never doubted you bleed blue and green. I think you just over estimate the ability of other teams bottom pairing defenders compared to Hutton. Hutton as you put is an AHL defender.
Hutton on this team is basically being asked to be a 3. Hutton is not a 3. |

Agreed, I think the game prep for Horvat and Boeser are fairly simple/standard, Pettersson's likely requires some thought |

I think he's a bottom pair guy yes. He's been played top4 way too much for my liking but honestly we simply don't have guys that can play that spot. But I also don't thin k bottom pair guys are very difficult to find and I'm tired of watching him play those minutes as a fan. Guddy is in the same boat, I think they are both not capable of taking on top6 lines. |

Then we agree on why the team isn't very good. They don't have enough talent and are asking players to play up the line up and they aren't capable. |

Markstrom is actually a good Goalie
Gudbranson is actually a good defenseman
And Granlund deserves to play the entire OT w/ Sutter
we need to keep this going. |

lol hockeybuzz has become a bit of a spectator sport when people get excited about things that are kind of irrelevant. Like cousin Eddie said in National Lampoons Christmas vacation, "once they start laying into you, its best just to let them finish" |

Thursday's game was a bit odd but it was also a surprisingly engaging night at the rink, considering it was a January game against Arizona.
I think it felt good just to have everybody cheering for the same team again?
Anyway, the new blog is now live:

Bo's great but he "efforts" his points. I don't think anyone would really credit his scoring to a creative offensive style.
And Boeser is a shooter, and without other shooting threats he becomes infinitely easier to defend.
I really want Mark Stone on this team. |

I saw your claims, you have appreciate confounding variables properly if you want to derive things from stats. Otherwise people who look at stats for a living will say your claim isn't valid. Kinda like I did right there, because that's what I do for a living. - neem55
