Go Vintsy go!

I think this shows Beagle > Sutter and while both Beagle & Sutter > Without Beagle & Sutter, one or the other is better than both.

He has "turned the corner" by this time last season he would have let the first shot in at least 15 times. This year it's probably less than 5 times it's happened.

What is Markstrom supposed to do when the defence in front of him, helps (talking about Gudbranson) the other team score on him?

- manvanfan

lol make a fu**ckin save?

I get the defense thing but holy sh!t micro-van I'm just not sure what 'corner he has turned'?

2017 - GAA 2.63 SV% .910
2018 - GAA 2.71 SV% .912
2019 - GAA 2.88 SV% .906

I'm no math whiz like Vinsty and Pressy (lol here it comes)...but those numbers don't actually preach 'turning the corner'.

Guddy is a -21 at 5v5 while the team is a -1 at 5v5 in non-Guddy minutes in the last 22 games. He's a (frank)ing nightmare.

But Marky could try stopping more than 8 of 10 shots. He's not very good at goaltending.

Guddy and Hutton have regressed from being acceptable every day players to (frank)en brutal.

as long as you don't look into details such as: was EP in lineup? Edler and/tanev injured? You know, players that matter more than 4th liners like Beagle. So ya, as long as you don't look at facts that matter, than you should be able to confirm most of your narratives!

Regressed Hutton hasn't been for even one game capable of defending. He was generating offense and skating with the puck well, but let's put the lipstick away and remember this is still a pig were talking about.

I guess you missed the whole hardly scientific portion. If you want to talk about facts, at least get them right

You could know better then to state facts here lordy. Take those numbers and shove them..... I mean run them through an algorithm that takes into consideration league wide scoring rate increases.
Adjusted for scoring rates markstrome has consistently maintained mediocre to middling numbers.

I saw your claims, you have appreciate confounding variables properly if you want to derive things from stats. Otherwise people who look at stats for a living will say your claim isn't valid. Kinda like I did right there, because that's what I do for a living.

Guddy's on ice save% this year is at like .890 ES. That's so far below league average its crazy.

For reference, Nilsson was ~.920 at ES and Marky is ~ .915, which are already slightly below average (last I checked average was closer to .925 at 5v5).

Did people not know we have below average goaltending? Marky played well in december, that is all.

For reference. I'm not defending Marky being a true #1 goalie. I wouldn't put him in the top 20 in the league. Maybe 21

I was just saying, if the defence was better, he would have better numbers and that I think he has been better than previous seasons even though the numbers don't show a difference.

Name a starting goaltender worse than Markstrom. Call it the pepsi challenge. I can think of one without looking into it.

Craig Anderson

MArtin Jones

Reimer/Luongo

I know you think very little of all the Canucks players and very highly of every other teams players.

No different then whoever said yesterday that the Canucks weren't good, the rest of the league was just bad.

Come on now. Jones may not be having a great first half, but he is career head and shoulders above Markstrom. By the end of the year this will not be accurate, Allen on the other hand has been regressing steady. Luongo is old as poop, I'll give you that. Craig anderson sure. The goalie on the worst team in the league. I don't think there will be many more, philly goalies (elliott) and... maybe New jersey? Either way, Marky is among the bottom, nothing to be happy about.

I think EP is a generational talent (Something posters on here seem to not think quite yet), I think Bo is our best all around player and we have a very solid 60 point winger in Boeser. Were a bad team, but are starting to get the young pieces you need. Our goaltending and D is among the worst in the NHL. After Edler/Tanev, we have AHL and bottom pair guys.

I'd rather see MacEwen or even Gaunce in the lineup at this point. At least those guys can win a board battle.

Betting all this Granlund hate probably leads to him scoring a couple in the next few games and the "haters" will get told to suck it

EP out of the lineup and we see the need for more of everything.
