I dont like the Bruins

And I (frank)ing hate the Bruins

Also Zeitsev ...barf

- senstroll

I don't like Zaitsev either but want to try him with a different partner, if only because we have 6 more years of the guy.
Next year Gards will be gone and the D is going to be really different because it.
Should be interesting.

Haha come on, gotta give credit where credit is due, the Bruins shut it down in the third, Leafs couldn't really get in to the zone and when they did the Bs won a lot of the puck battles. They had the puck on the perimeter but when it came close to the net the Bruins didnt give them much. It's classic Bruins hockey.
- 13sundin13

They closed it out like I suspected they would.
Leafs were by far the better team though.

And the first. After the first five minutes they were all over them. It was borderline dominating.
Even Hughson said they were coming in waves.

(frank)ING HUGHSON.

I missed the first. And I don't believe you that he said that.

Hughson is only a mega homer when Vancouver plays. Otherwise, he's a perfectly normal homer.

Me neither. Could have been the shrooms (frank)ing with me.
Did the Agros win the tennis match or did Opera (frank) it up again?

Edit for good luck: nice alliteration đź‘Ť

Matthews was great...
- Steven_Seagull

he certainly seems to have hit a dry patch... what strikes me as odd is that he's been flat since Nylander's return, Nylander has been largely vacant... and yet Babcock sticks with the same lines pretty much game in game out. How many Nylander games of doing essentially nothing did he wait before starting to change stuff.

both guys (Matthews and Nylander) seem like they are waiting for other people do the work for them.

The Argos are the top team in tennis, so don't worry - you're fine!

I'm not sure what game you were watching, it really looks like Toronto was the better team. You said earlier they couldn't sustain any pressure in the Bruins zone, but I saw quite a bit of that in the third.
- BetterCallSaul

I guess we see things differently. At the end 6 on 5 they were great but the first 15 mins were pretty effectively killed by the Bruins. Didn't really see any grade A scoring chances. They were checked very tightly and though they would get the zone, guys like Chara and Miller would stop the cycle and get it out. It was very rare that the Leafs made any clean plays, except to the point but most of those shot were blocked or missed the net.

To me, 6 shots in the third with a pretty solid 6 on 5 isn't exactly sustaining offensive pressure. It was a good game, I just thought the Bruins did their thing and the Leafs couldn't overcome at 3-2. But I'm not saying I'm totally right and the Leafs sucked, it's just how I saw it.

I wish Babs stacked his lines more. If you're down by 1 with less than 5 left, get out a Matthews-Tavares-Marner line. Who gives a (frank). Get it done.

Let me get this straight...

What you're saying is the first 15 minutes of the 6 on 5 were controlled by the Bruins?

Did you watch the game bro?
- gravyface

Yeah I did, it was a good game but the Bruins played well. They gave them the outside but never let them get to the net or get 2nd chances. 6 SOG in the third. It's good defensive hockey and the Leafs need to be able to play through that to have any success against this team, or any other good defensive team.

Meh. With Andersen in net, I think we win that game.

It wasn't Hutch's best game, but he still played well. Sparks is the odd man out.

Yeah I could see that, but do they win a series? I dunno, I think the Bruins still have the edge, but obviously as the team gains more experience, they can learn to overcome that. To me it seems like they are not quite there yet. Hopefully Chara retires soon as well.

Agreed. Hutch overall has been average.
Which is more than Sparks can say. If Hutch plays one more game he'll need to clear waivers which puts him on even ground with Sparks. At that point you'd think they waive (or preferrably trade) Sparks and run with Hutch.

Now I know you weren't watching

- Hainsey drop passes to nobody, right in front an empty net;
- Mitchy goes for a bit of a swoon, almost coughs it up;
- Rielly and Gardiner single-handedly kill the last 20 seconds or so in Boston's zone.

So 6 SOG vs 10 SOG in the third period is the Leafs outplaying the Bruins? The first two periods yes, they played great. The third was a different story.

It'll be a close series. But it was close last time. The Leafs are a better team this time around and I don't think the Bruins got any better since last year.
I think the series would go how tonight would have gone if Andersen was in and played even his version of average: Close but Leafs on top.

He has defended UG before. Just Saiyan.
- Steven_Seagull

Haha, I've had my fair share of arguments with UG, but he does make some good points. He's kind of abrasive for sure and doesn't let up on his opinions, but a good idea is a good idea no matter who it comes from.

Those moments weren't great, pretty brutal to watch, but their most sustained pressure came 6 on 5.
