that's why (in my opinion) Leafs should deal Gardinorr at the deadline... assuming they can acquire someone who replaces his minutes...
he's not the offensive catalyst that he was last year... relying on him to be defensively responsible and consistent... is like expecting Hainsey to suddenly get faster.  |

the only way to significantly upgrade the team overall is to sacrifice some talent for a top 4 defender, acquiring some guy to play 4th line center achieves to little to nothing, given the minutes that the 4th line is likely to play down the stretch and into the playoffs... no sense wasting a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a guy to play 8minutes a night |
